Really high quality food, you can tell they know what they're doing in preparing their wide variety of Chinese cuisine. We particularly loved the Japanese tofu and have never had tofu like that before. All dishes were excellent.
They are still getting a full staff established so there may be some small hiccups in service, but nothing to make it not worth the visit. The owner is often on the floor and clearly works very hard to make sure customers have a great experience.
Overall, a great dining experience and I wish them well in these tough times for restaurants, especially those less than a few years old.
We just came from a dinner at Jade Court and we are so pleased: the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. We happened to meet the owner on the floor and so - knowing a thing or two about food - we asked her to just bring what we should eat for our group of five. She had the kitchen prepare several appetizers, and five entrees for our group of five: it was all fresh and sublimely delicious. The dumplings hummed with flavor, the crispy salt and pepper tofu delivered an amazing silken tofu texture, and she brought us a beef dish with ginger that was a revelation - not to be missed. We will gladly return whenever we get the chance. It is clear why they have earned a place on Eater's 38 Essential Chicago Restaurants, and one hopes it makes its way back to the Bib Gourmand list soon.

Very disappointed. Last week I spent $32 on dinner. Ordered shrimp egg rolls, wonton soup and lemon chicken with added broccoli. The lid wasn't on the soup and the broth spilled out on the way home. Good thing it was on the floor of my car. Lemon chicken was not good. Way too sweet and the breaded chicken was soggy. Broccoli was crunchy. Rice was hard and dry. Eggrolls were OK but tiny. Wontons were good but no broth which is what i wanted. I called to complain. They first said they'd refund the whole amount. Then they said they'd give me a $5 credit for the soup and I just had to give my phone # next order. So I called again tonight. They had no record of my original order, my phone # or name. They said they refunded me but the refund is not in my bank account. She then put me on hold and accidentally hung up on me but then called back. Wasted at least 10 minutes at this point. After a few more minutes someone else gets on the phone and asks for my name and phone #. Are you kidding me? I just repeated my name and number at least 4 times! I asked where the other person was, explained the situation all over again and asked what the resolution is...a refund or a $5 credit? Because I'd like to know before ordering. She said she didn't know but she just was sent to take my order. Forget it. I'll order a pizza. Too bad. 2 strikes now. Not sure I'll try a 3rd time.

Decided to try this new place in Hyde Park. I like the changes they made and the nice upscale Chinese decor. The food was good, and the menu is pretty expansive. Be prepared to take some time to decide on your order. Our waitress was lovely, and we’ll definitely return.

A hidden gem in a city full of great places to eat. Thankfully this was mentioned online for a 'must-eat' spot.
The calming interior puts you at peace to settle in and eventually dive into some sumptuous meals.
I was suggested to get their beef dishes, and ended up ordering the beef with black pepper and garlic. The fresh sizzling sound and juicy texture/flavor of the dish will hook you to your seat until you're done.
This place should be more known out there

I ordered shrimp fried rice and beef and broccoli to go. I am ashamed I paid as much I did, but I REALLY had a taste for chinese food. It wasn't bad, it was just "okay", which is unacceptable with them charging downtown/Gold Coast prices. I know many Chinese restaurants in the hood that would blow them out of the water. I don't see them lasting long in this location.

Outstanding Chinese food in Hyde Park in a nice setting. Service has been good and the owner herself checks on you during the meal. A huge menu with house specialties noted. Fun drinks to finish your date night. Prices are appropriate. What more can you ask for?

Walked up for dinner and doors were locked. The “bartender” came to the window and asked could he help us.” Yes we would like to eat. Should have known this would be a bad experience. Upon dining we ordered shrimp fried rice (was warm not hot) and Honey Walnut Shrimp that was lathered in Mayo. We asked to place a different order because we did not like the Walnut shrimp. The waitress said fine but didn’t remove the walnut shrimp. What I would describe as the “bus boy” was rude slamming our plates and not speaking. We asked him to remove the walnut shrimp which he did but later he brought it back because he was told by our waitress that we still needed to pay for it. Our waitress by the way never returned to our table. Overall, negative stars. Do not recommend. Poor service and bad food.

Picked the restaurant to celebrate my birthday and after reading many good reviews, I was super excited to try it out! It was around 4:30pm for them to open for dine-in, we kind of had to ring the bell to let them know and got in. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was nice and relaxing, and the food was amazing. We ordered the Steamed Fish (they got Walleye to replace the Sea Bass at the time, fresh and yummy) and Beef Tenderloin in House Special Sauce (the meat was tender and the sauce was really good!). Everything came with a bowl of rice. Definitely recommended and would visit again!

Jade Court is a hidden gem located inside of Hyde Park's Harper Court. Right next to Ja Grill, the restaurant recently opened in the neighborhood. The interior is welcoming and warm with tables that can accommodate both small and large parties. Their swivel centerpieces for each table takes you back to your favorite neighborhood Cantonese restaurant sharing large steaming dishes of food.
And the food is phenomenal with an expansive menu which caters to patrons who love seafood, pork, beef, poultry or vegetables.
The service is on point and we thoroughly enjoyed each dish brought out promptly prepared without a long wait. The drink menu varies from specialty cocktails such as traditional Mai Tai to fruit-inspired smoothies and flavored iced green or black tea.
I highly recommend this place to being a date or a family of 10.
