Incredible sushi and service!
BYOB!
Waitress was so friendly and attentive. We visited the fist time in March (2022) and are here again tonight (April 2022).
They have gluten free soy sauce and are very accommodating with special requests (like removing crunch or bonito flakes).
I loved the sushi. I got the cucumber sushi and the salmon and crab sushi. The ingredients were fresh. The simple flavors didn't need anything extra. The wasabi was delicious!!
I just moved to the area and Kai Sushi is going to be my new take-out place!

Everything was very good
Shrimp udon- some of the best fried shrimp and sweet potato I’ve had. The broth was nicely flavored
Dragon roll- your standard dragon roll this was well done
Green turtle roll- interesting roll, don’t know if would do it again but it was sweet and light to the taste. I think I personally prefer heavier rolls but this was very good as a light sweet roll
Green tea ice cream - green tea flavor isn’t overwhelming and has some chocolate drizzle very good

Our family ate at Kai Sushi last Saturday and it was great! The service and sushi were both top notch, some of the best rolls we've had!

It's completely different from food photography. not fresh People who have eaten good sushi and sashimi will not like it. Decided not to go again. The staff are also not friendly.
Even the dessert fruit has a fishy taste.

Do not get the Sakura Blossom, who eats cooked salmon at a Sushi restaurant? Overall, I recommend the Unagi Don with eel.

Do I love sushi a little too much? One could argue that that’s the case. Either way, Kai is a local spot near where I live and it’s a pretty good option on a weeknight. The sushi is fresh and the quality of the fish is pretty good for the price.

Delicious spot. Great quality sashimi. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly and the server kindly brought my dog a water bowl.

We were in a hurry and felt like having sushi and this place was really close by. Probably one of the best sushi places in Chicago. Everything was fresh and delicious! All the rolls that had salmon were my favorite! I also loved their squid salad and uni! Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Great sushi spot in the south loop! I have ordered from here many times in the past And didn’t know it was BYOB until today which was a nice surprise! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and the quality of the fresh fish was amazing! Will definitely be back :)

We absolutely love this place as a family. Ordered sushi yesterday and order got mixed up. Kai sushi called me themselves that they mixed up the order and offered to make a new order for us free of charge. That is great customer service!
Shout out to the management for taking care of your customers during this pandemic.

Absolutely an A+ dining experience from Kai Sushi!! The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and respectful. I was pleasantly surprised to get the quality of the food and the service at this price range for sushi. I really loved their recommended chef specials, and would definitely come back for more.

If you have a “yen”for Sushi I say have it here.Far better then that served in the grocery stores.
On the other hand my Miso and sashimi were average. Was served at room temperature and I prefer it served cool to cold.Served with cucumber salad good. The Miso had minimal tofu and tasted unexciting.Presentation average to good.
Service Good.Decor nondescript.Pricing inexpensive.Quality average .Parking non existent.
I will be back.

Decent sushi. I came during lunch hour on a weekday and the place was about half full. Nothing extraordinary to report, and especially for the price I don't think I'll be returning. It's a good spot for your sushi fix if you're in the South Loop overall though. I did like that they had 6 veggie rolls but the quality wasn't anything to gush over. I got the avocado, cumcumber and sweet potato tempura. My favorite was the tempure by far. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and sweet. Wish I got her name. One thing to note is that they give you cucumber salad in the begining so that was nice.
Good enough to go to if youre craving sushi, not somewhere for anything amazing.
