Excellent tasting menu, very competent staff. The Nigiri was smooth as silk, and the overall quality was very high
This place is pretty and the fish quality was solid. Problem is its wildly overpriced for what you will get. $15 for 3 oysters not cleaned properly enough to detach. An over iced sashimi plate had all of the pretty standard pieces of fish still stuck together...for $100 per person. There are low cost and high cost options to explore nearby that will be much more rewarding.

Absolutely terrific meal. The tasting menu is creative and has many WOW moments with dishes like the dear your own wagyu and the foie gras on a lobster pancake.

Some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Went for happy hour, the duck salad is a must try! So tender & flavorful. The chicken thigh bao sliders were amazing as well. Seriously everything was delicious & the service was amazing :)

From start to finish this was one of the better meals I've had in Chicago. The service was top notch and every dish we ordered was over the top delicious. I'd highly recommend checking this place out and don't miss the tuna nigri sampler.

Komo was amazing!!! Came here for my friends birthday (just us two) and we were greeted by the hostesses with a sip of sake, then escorted through a Shoji sliding door to our table.
The interior is gorgeously done and the place settings so organized. Every service person is distinctly dressed and we felt so well taken care of.
The food is delightful, inspired, and perfectly portioned. We had two cocktails each, plenty of food, and our bill was very reasonable for a nicer restaurant in West Town.
Def come check it out!!!

3.5 stars if I could. Overpriced for what it is. The chef came out to our table to explain his sashimi course ($150/person) and clearly seemed like he didn’t want to be there. The pisco cocktail was delicious and the sushi itself tasted great. The staff was all very friendly as well. Something just seemed “lack” overall.

Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the quality of Komo's decor, cocktails, and food. Fresh toro, buttery Kobe beef, savory lobster croquette. Just try it and thank me later.

Service was great, drinks were delicious and food was good too. Really liked the dressed oysters and the tuna flight (not pictured)

Wow. The best (and most expensive) meal of my life but so worth it. Can’t wait to be back again! You have to try the nigiri.

Thank you so much for making our experience so special. Miranda was fabulous!! Prior to the night becoming even more special, she made us feel so welcome! She's a pro. Please express our gratitude to her and the entire service team. Our waters were always full, our table cleared smoothly, our questions and requests answered warmly and quickly. Just incredibly professional. It felt like an exclusive experience. Every course was phenomenal. I'm dreaming about the mushroom soup, nigiri and white strawberries!! My (soon-to-be) husband was in love with second course! My complements to the chef and his team for a delicious tasting menu and, of course, sincere gratitude for taking extra care of our dessert and making this once in a lifetime experience truly special. To everyone involved in our experience, from filming to filling, many many thanks. You all have a special place in our hearts. Oh! And we loved the music all night! Such a great vibe. Nils, we want your playlist!

Unfortunately, we were quite underwhelmed. It started out on a high note with the soup - it was delicious. Then things started getting odd. They starting swapping out random dishes vs. the menu we prepaid for. They said it’s because the chef wanted what was “fresh” but I’m not sure I believe that. For instance, they served us mackerel which is one of the cheapest types of fish you can buy. They didn’t serve the beef courses. The dishes they did serve were sub par. Disappointed at the quality and experience, especially given the high price. Sadly, I would be surprised if it lasts more than a year.

We had a great time at KOMO and thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu. There wasn't a single course that missed the mark, and the staff were wonderfully attentive. Each course was balanced and really brought me back to our time in Japan. Can't wait to come back and try another seasonal menu!

Upon arrival the hostess was not friendly or warm. Did not even welcome us. Which aside from menu slinging is the point of having a front door hostess.
The presentation was the best part of the meal. The food itself, was adequate, and the price is matched of the effort of the dishes.
I’m shocked at the ambiance of high end eateries. I’ve seen the word pretentious used often for many of the Chicago places. I hope these establishments learn that there is no template to appearance, and that being service friendly benefits their reviews of business.
Overall, the best offer of this place is its soft lighting, great staff service within our own experience (outside of host) with a graceful appearance.
