The noodles were springy and chewy, all I need to come back here 1000 times over. It’s such a rarity to find a noodle shop in the US that has as much attention to detail and proper technique. The garnishes, the beef, and the soup itself were all tremendous. 5/5.

Very pleasant. Enjoyed the hot. Saw food on an Instagram pic. It tastes as good as the images. I ordered the Cucumber salad and the Beed & Green Onion Dumplings. Flavor danced in my mouth! I'll return try other entrers.

I really liked the dumplings and the cold noodles. Make sure to stir the noodles really well before eating as the sauce is at bottom. Also it's BYOB! if you forget, there's Marianas right across.

Such an awesome place. The place is a gem. You can really taste the quality of ingredients used in the umami experience. Feels like the food is made in someone grandmas kitchen. Highly recommend the dill dumplings, ordered an eggplant salad and had to take an extra 2 home it’s was so delicious. The preserve plum drink is awesome when mixed with a dill flavored beer (we brought) Place BYOB which is a plus and the staff was extremely kind. Cold noodles is a summertime refreshing favorite. It’s worth the wait always????

Very pricey compared to similar Xi'an restuarants. Rou Jia mo is doubled the price and half the taste.

Food also tastes unauthentic, especially the CongYou Bing. It should be made thin and cripsy with flake layers of dough & evenly distributed green onion. Instead, it's super thick, loaded with green onion...

Absolutely delicious dumplings in broth. Lots of flavor and spices, and they can make the dishes extra spicy if you ask! Had the cucumber salad as well which was very fresh and light.

Highly recommend

The place screams cultural appropriation. For $19, you get the beef noodle soup. The noodles are supposed to be just flour noodles, but these definitely tasted like a more egg based Italian fettuccini noodles; the broth tastes like water smothered with spicy seasoning—another commenter had previously mentioned the noodle broth was all spice and no flavor. If you are craving for Rou Jia Mo, please do your palate and your wallet a favor and just go to Xi’an Dynasty Cuisine in Lincoln Park (of course, there are also even more options in Chinatown).

This place was great. Service and staff was awesome. Food came out quick but tasted like it was an all day affair. The noodles here are next level and the dumplings are great. Can’t wait to go back.

My favourite Chinese restaurant in Chicago. This place offers awesome dumpling soup and noodles, but their small dishes are also exceptional. They are so good at using spices and acids that everything on the menu is so nicely balanced.

Excellent dumplings in broth that makes the meal as much as the dumplings do. I had beef and green onion dumplings, and it was just the right amount to fill me up and warm me on a cold day. It’s a good value for the quality and portion.

Atmosphere is casual; I dined in and Smashing Pumpkins filled the space at a moderate volume. Service was welcoming, friendly, easy to order at the counter.

Wait time felt a bit long for food to come out, but I could see they were filling lots of orders for delivery/takeout, plus it’s a holiday season, so understandable. It wouldn’t deter me from going back. I’ll save it for a time when I’m not in a hurry.

I am eager to try more dishes.
