As Lao Sze Chuan began to have multiple locations, I worried that its quality would suffer. So far, their dishes are still solid and full of flavors. This Uptown location even has drink menu that is unique to the neighborhood. It is one of the top Chinese options in a neighborhood that has number of outstanding Chinese restaurants.
we went for the lunch special and everything was phenomenal. they give you spicy cabbage to munch on while you’re deciding. the house special chicken is amazing. great crab rangoon! we liked the rangoon better than the egg roll but both were great and served with spicy mayo. will def come back.

The food tastes bad and is not fresh. All of these can be taken as accident and I can just never come next time. But the attitude of the waitress was very bad, and she even asked me back when the lamb was raw: Do you want fully cooked? I never know that regular raw lamb can be eaten. I thought it was the chef's problem, but now it seems that the service is also a big problem.

Good, although I didn't manage to get dessert, so I'll have to go back.
Editing: It's about a month later and I ordered take-out from them, while making sure to get the bean-paste pastries. They were excellent! And, the ordinary vegetarian dish I ordered with it was good too.

Decent and relatively authentic Szechuan food. Some sichuan ingredients and flavors were missing. The beef tripes didn't have the tenderness nor the imbued flavor that we are used to, but the rest, including the poached fish were very tasty and flavorful. Maybe it was because I came after peak hours just after the lunch, but I found the service lacking in attention. The prices are very fair as well as the portions. The decor is good too, as is the atmosphere.

Their vegetable spicy fried rice is delicious! ???????????????? and more. Try it, you would not be disappointed! And I dined in before with some friends and they enjoyed it as well and we all said we’ll be coming back soon.????????❤️

My favorite non dim sum Chinese restaurant! Food is always consistent in flavor profile and great variety. I haven’t tried everything but I am never disappointed. Highlights are the lamb with cumin, three chili chicken, Tony’s chicken, lemon shrimp and MaPo tofu, which you need to order medium spicy to appreciate it. Love this place!

We ordered online and did pick up. We were quite shocked when we got home and discovered the VEGETARIAN spring rolls were placed in the same container as the crispy shrimp roll! On the phone we asked that the two orders be separated because one is vegetarian, but this is also serious because of a shellfish allergy. It was quite disheartening.
