We recently visited this restaurant and absolutely loved it! They have a great patio with relaxing atmosphere! Also, they have gluten free options. For example, my scallops were prepared with butter instead of flour, the cheese and speck americano is gluten free if you remove the baguette. The fish with sauce romesco was also gluten free. Furthermore, the Spanish octopus with olives was gluten free and very delicious. Additionally, the desserts were full of flavor and we enjoyed them.
We would definitely come back!
We were excited to try this place out. Sitting in the dining room reminded us of being on vacation in the south of France.
We sampled the burger, pea and fava bean salad, pasta, and white fish. Food was solid but nothing to write home about and the burger was pretty disappointing.

We love Le Sud! Delicious and very authentic. A cozy interior and lovely outdoor space. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Great wine list too. This bistro never disappoints..

Delicious Mediterranean food. We like both the standards as well as seasonal offerings. Great for a date night or a dinner with the kids. Attentive service. Lovely environment. Feels like the kind of restaurant you’d expect downtown, yet awesomely neighborhood-y.

My gf and I went here for a date night and we loved it! The place is adorable and homey, the service is great, and the food is delicious! We were particularly fond of the charred octopus and the bread pudding dessert. Would definitely come back!

Sat at the bar. Excellent octopus app and amazing Spanish old fashioned. Pork chop was the rec, and it lived up. Curated beer list with a North Coast saison I've been missing for years, and a generous pour of Sauv Blanc for the wife. Great staff too. Will be back!

Went here with my mom when she came to visit from out of town to try somewhere upscale in my neighborhood. We decided to sit at the bar… there were ants were all over the end of the bar and we received dirty glasses. The bartender was discreetly wiping them away when we were trying to enjoy our appetizers. Ledges and other surfaces were pretty dusty as well. It was pretty off-putting to feel like things weren’t clean.

We enjoyed our dinner but not particularly had a magical first impression.
Grilled Octopus and Duck entree were pretty tasty. Side dishes quinoa and veggies were disappointing and somewhat tasteless.
The service was a mediocre.
It sounds like the place supposed to be a fusion of French coastal and Spanish cuisine. I’d recommend to give it a chance at least once.

Overall: A pricey, but delicious, southern France experience.
The good: Atomsphere is great, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Well-varied menu with a lot of options to choose from, including drinks (which were also fantastic). The complimentary bread is delicious and tastes like it's from France, but we wish we had more of it for a larger table. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the octopus was delicious as well. Service was friendly and attentive.
The not-so-good: The prices climb quickly, especially given that they are smaller dishes. Wish we had more of the complimentary bread for our larger table and the croqeuettes were unfortunately forgettable.
Food: 8/10
Atmosphere: 9/10
Service: 8/10

The food was amazing! Great selections, we had duck, scallops, pasta and chicken. They serve a lovely crusty bread with a delicious lemon herb butter. Our appetizer of cauliflower and artichoke was incredible. The staff was attentive and engaging.

One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The food is always great here. Love the octopus, the burger and the gruyere cheese croquettes. Staff is always at their best, and everyone is super friendly.

Le Sud is a great place to eat, drink, and relax at. You can actually hear yourself talk since there's no loud music! There are tables for two people so if you come with just one other person it's comfortable. If you bring your family they've also got you covered. Lots of vegetarian options (pasta, vegetables, etc). The staff is nice and accommodating (if you have specific dietary needs). They really put time and effort into creating new and exciting dishes. This is a great location. I'll be coming back soon!
