Took the Red Line down to Roosevelt and then Orange Line to Kedzie. I ordered the Rib Tips small. Went to Grant Skate Park to eat it but had to take the Orange Line back. It was the Rib Tips, fries and 2 pieces of bread. It was solid but nothing crazy and also I had to eat it in the humid outside on a bench so that wasn't the best either. The fries were super good tho, nice and crispy.
I used to love coming here. Food was great. I went recently and the food was ok, nothing great and the prices went sky high... Not too happy.

I grew up in the area, orderred this often and I must say this food is a huge disappointment. Everything from the sauce to the links and even the rib tips are not the same. Im not sure if its under new management but the food lacks "soul", for lack of a better word. Wont be orderring from here anymore. I had the links and rib tip combo. Super greasy and very dry. My girlfriend orderred the chicken tenders and she stated " bland with no flavor".

This was the first time I visited this place and all I can say is... what do you expect from a BBQ Joint. My order probably would've looked & came out much better,...if I had order my sauce on the side. It's my fault.
I did order a small order of rib tips too, but I forgot to take a picture of them to review them. It did come out looking like this photo too, because I forgot to order the sauce on the side, but overall,... it was a little ok and more better than the link.
The sausage tasted like it had a little Mexican chorizo in it with that brats maple syrup flavor and brown sugar in it. It was ok, but not the best. It was' a kinda dry inside the link.
*This is my 1rst time trying or experiencing food like this, at any BBQ joint. *But To finish this review off, I would say it's not the best experience I had, but it's worth giving it a try for yourself, but remember to order the sauce on the side. Don't do the mistake I did. Oh' & have a good day.

Not Luke it use to be. Lacked flavor. Some was just tough meat. Mexicans are running it now. I don't know if the black owners sold it but the food isn't the same as in nit as good. Not going back and I wouldn't recommend them

Never opened during their posted hours, they close whenever they want, food overpriced. They fell off used to be good. Everything over cooked or dried out. Price should match quality every time.

If I could leave a negative 5 star review I would. I ordered a number 4, which is 1 dried out link, 4 tiny dried out wings-and I mean tiny, and a half order of fries. I ate the whole plate and I didn't even feel like I ate. And they charged me 16 dollars. After paying that price I should be full and satisfied. I would recommend that you go elsewhere. The food tastes fried and below average.

I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years. Today will be the last time I ever go there. They really messed up my order. I wanted a bucket of rib tips and I told them to put the sauce on the side. They ended up drinking the whole bucket and sauce and on top charged me for a side of sauce which I was aware of. They also charge me for hot links which I never received. I called them and they hung up on me and every time I tried calling back they wouldn’t answer. The food might be good but disappointed in the service and they last a long time customer .

Besides all the big franchises I do consider this place on of the best in the south side of Chicago. Chicken is fried to perfection. BBQ ribs are okay. I've been a customer for years and always recommend it to friends.

We've been coming here for years. It's not close to us but definitely worth the drive. The chicken itself is amazing, but their sauce is some of the best original sauces. Both mild and spicy. The spicy definitely has a kick to it. The food never disappoints. They have individual meals and larger deals for families. Seriously, it's all delicious. No place to dine in so you'll have to carry out. I always order the sauce on the food but you can request it on the side of you prefer.

We buy ribs 2 or 3 times per year not really often they are usually really good but this time was an exception BBQ sauce was great but ribs where super dried, really hard to eat, my thought is that they were leftovers from the day before, we spent $50 and I wasn't expecting this. I hope this will be the only time we pay for something like this.

I wanted to know the Chicago rave was about and tried Leon's BBQ and regret it. RIBS- To salty, not meaty (literally bones) did not fall off bone I had to saw the bones apart. RIB TIPS - Salty, fatty not enough meat. SAUCE - very bland for BBQ sauce it was the consistency of honey. I'm glad I at least tried it but can't promise I would return.

Nothing Special
This was my first time eating at Leon's BBQ joint. The restaurant is take out only.
My order was ready in minutes.
The food was just okay. I would not drive 40 plus minutes again for more. The bbq sauce tasted like mild sauce, the fries were the cheapest frozen fries ever (no potato taste).
The rib tip were of course pork.. lots of fat and big bones. The plus is they give you a good amount of rib tips. The links were dried out.
