Consistently a great meal! I’ve eaten here about about once a year for the last decade. And I’m always excited to go back. The service is wonderful and so is the food.
This time, I had to eat a special gluten-free free diet- first time I’ve ever had to restrict my ordering here. I was concerned, but I had some really exciting options.
Everything is great, you don’t need recommendations. Try as many things as you can.
Quick review: The Inn and restaurant are mid range to pricy, but you will not find better food or accommodations in Chicago!!
My wife and I spent our 7 year anniversary here and it was the most amazing experience!! The rooms upstairs are not cheap, but well worth it. We stayed in room 55 which has a huge shower, stand alone tub, king size bed, and a street view just off Logan Square. This is an amazing room for an anniversary, Valentine's Day, or a just a really good date night. The rooms are very clean and well decorated. Check-In was easy. All room keys are in lock-boxes and the code is sent by e-mail. Check out just putting the key back in the box. The staff was excellent and helpful. My wife forgot her wedding ring by the sink and they already had it in house safe less than an hour after we left. There is a fair amount of restaurant noise that can be heard so if you are a light sleeper or go to bed early, consider bringing a white noise machine.
The restaurant is fantastic! Their menu changes regularly, but their Greek chicken fries was AMAZING! Their whisky selection is extensive and our waiter brought out a numbered bottle of Rye whiskey to toast our anniversary. They also have whiskey tasting flights and whiskey mixed drinks. I had a whiskey mule that was excellent. We had to leave early the next day, but staying for brunch the next morning or hitting one of the many breakfast restaurants in Logan Square is an awesome morning plan.

Finally made it to this 2022 Bib Gourmand establishment and it did not disappoint. The biscuit & sausage gravy with over easy egg sounds pedestrian but this was clearly elevated! The biscuits was flaky and soft and had that wonderful texture to stand up to the gravy. The gravy was unctuous and peppery and the fried sage (great touch) gave it that subtle earthy quality. The egg provided an overall creaminess to round it all out. I understand why they earned the BG rating. Ill be back to try more of their brunch fare.

I rarely give 5 stars! This place is amazing. The food was DELICIOUS. We ordered the roasted chicken, summer squash and the spring peas dish. The presentation was beautiful. Everything was seasoned perfectly. It’s wonderfully healthy and sinfully tasty! We finished our meal off with a few rounds of Japanese whiskey. Our server was extremely attentive and charming and really made the experience perfect. My tummy thanks you and we will certainly be back for more of your phenomenal offerings!

We were very glad with our decision to stay at the hotel and drink at the bar this weekend. We appreciated the friendly, helpful team. Charlie and Alfie are world-class. L&E has a very impressive whiskey selection and Charlie knows his stuff.
We recommend for an excellent stay!

Something has changed for the better… I’ve been going to L&E for a few years now for the affordable beer and an extensive whiskey selection but the food always felt like something was missing.
This past visit I went with two friends and all of us felt the food was absolutely fantastic, and commented how much of an improvement it was on previous dining experiences. We had the lamb schnitzel, BBQ Salmon, and simple greens salad and everything was delicious.

So, I used to live right upstairs from LM&E when they first opened their doors, and for the first 3 years. Loved it then and happy to say It's even better now.
AMAZING; whiskey selection, knowledgeable bartenders/servers, GREAT food and most of all, the best fries in the city... in my opinion of course. Oh and I'd argue the best Manhattan. Glad I stopped in, it's been a few years. I'll be coming back soon, save me a seat????????

4 of us ate there on a Saturday brunch. 2 of us had the standard breakfast and the portion size was large enough. They also brought an additional bowl of the potatoes. The other 2 people also had good sized meals. Food was terrific. I had an iced tea and it came in a tall skinny glass that didn't hold much liquid. L in all it was a nice experience.

What a great restaurant. We stopped by during restaurant week, and everyone loved what they ordered. There was a great variety for the different dietary restrictions. The waiter was wonderful and nodded approvingly at every order we placed; we felt great.

Longman & Eagle is consistently great. The food and service is always on point. My most recent dinner came with excellent whiskey recommendations from our server. This is definitely a place to take any whiskey enthusiast to as their menu for liquor is extensive. I would definitely recommend for a fun happy hour drink or dinner with friends. The menu does change periodically but if you do go, I recommend the pork shoulder with collard greens and sweet potatoes.
