Ate at the bar for mother's day. Definitely get reservations. Sometimes you can dine at the bar and sometimes not so check at the desk. Things will vary as COVID goes up and down I'm sure. Great service, drinks, and food. If you're ordering dessert, get the order in so you can have it or take it to go as they're pretty popular. Live singer during dinner was great. It's pretty dark so use a light source to view the menu. Menu was recently revamped as well as the spirits menu.
Mastro’s Review; Chicago, IL - I went for a birthday dinner for the first time 8/26/22 I will admit the food is good although I had to have our steaks recooked since I did request medium well and was medium rare no big deal. Ambiance is nice along with the butter cake, however I was shocked of the waitress service at an upscale restaurant. Our waitress was very snippy and short at each request and to have my Hennessy sidecar taken away when I wasn’t finished was baffling. 300.00+ tip I think should deserve better customer service then what was displayed.. I would give 5 but saddened by service.

Best steak I’ve had in a long time!
Mastro’s provides a great atmosphere and high quality food. The steak was to the point and seasoned perfectly…absolutely delicious!
Also the staff is very friendly, attentive and courteous. The whole evening was accompanied by a piano player ????

We were celebrating our parent's birthdays in Chicago this weekend. Had a wonderful experience at Mastro's Steakhouse, downtown Chicago: live entertainment, good atmosphere, and excellent food.

I felt like a VIP from the moment I stepped into this fantastic establishment!
Our Waiter Omar Garcia was outstanding. He truly rolled out the red carpet for me and my client. He was informative, helpful and made fantastic recommendations. He genuinely enjoys what he does and brought a very positive energy to the dining experience.
The food was excellent. The best Pork Chop I have ever eaten and the Brandy Apple Pecan Sauce took that meat to another level. The 8 oz Filet was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Truffle Butter really kicked it up a notch as well.
As for dessert, Omar was very kind and treated us to two desserts on the house. The New York Style Cheesecake was really good. However the Butter Cake with the Vanilla Ice Cream was the real winner. It was freaking awesome!
After dinner, we headed to the bar area where there was a very talented young musician performing on the piano. We enjoyed finishing our wine listening to nice music. What a great way to end the night!
This is definitely a winner and a special place. Worth the money.

Perfect restaurant for a romantic evening or special occasion! Dim lighting, white tablecloths, live pianist, and simple decor. The wait staff were dressed in suits and bow ties which was also a nice touch. For dinner, I had a Pomegranate martini, Dream Berry martini, Shrimp Cocktail, Chilean Seabass, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, sautéed Broccoli florets, and the famous Mastro’s Butter Cake. Although the Seabass was encrusted with herbs, spices, and Parmesan cheese, the fish was quite bland. Otherwise, everything else was absolutely delicious, especially the Lobster Mashed Potatoes. I would recommend for a nice evening out on the town, definitely worth a try!

We came here for RW 2022. The price of the RW menu was a budget option which cost $55 for a set of meal including a filet which usually cost $60. Therefore, all of my friends ordered filets. We all ordered medium rare filets. However, mine came with the color and the taste with more like medium which was unfortunately in my person opinion ruined a great chunk of steak. I tasted my friends' medium rare, they were soft, full of flavor. Unfortunately, you are a steakhouse, your customer are here for your steak. The onion soup a bit too salty. We also ordered lobster mashed potatoes which they served us a regular mashed potatoes initially. After we notified the waiter, he immediately served the right one. The sashimi, I supposed that the chef want to do something creative. However, the thickness of the sashimi was way to thin which made the fish meat lack of textures, the taste was interesting refreshing though. The distances between tables were too close, the ambient noise was way loud. I would say the whole restaurant was way too crowded for the given space.
Overall, considering it is a high-end steakhouse which is supposed to provide satisfying experience. I am afraid that I probably won't recommend to anyone for the experience that I had.

Good food! The steak was a little too salty but the exceptionalism of the dessert would have made up for it had the butter cake not been burnt under the ice cream. Also there was still a sticker on the lemon, so that says a lot about the quality control going on back in the kitchen. Watermark on the fork is a minor issue but along with the other mishaps it shows negligence is not an accident but a habit here at Maestros.

Group of two was sat in a large booth meant for 5 or 6 instead of an intimate table. Our table was also near the plate/silverware station which was loud as they were refilling it constantly throughout the evening. Food was very good, although the crab cake was a little small for the price and the potatoes seemed like they had been sitting out for a bit.

Good food. Great service. I highly recommend the Lobster Bisque. It was the perfect consistency with nice chunks of Lobster. My NY strip was good as well, but nothing extraordinary. The service here is always impeccable.

I came here around March 2021 for an anniversary dinner. The waiter that we had was absolutely the sweetest. (I will update with his name) we had some scallops and and bacon to start and we each had a steak for entree! The steaks were cooked to the perfect temperature. Everything was well seasoned we also had an order or spinach and corn! That tied everything together. Accompanied with a bottle of rose! I cannot wait to come back here!! We also got a beautiful dessert on the house for the occasion!! Thank you!!
