Always great pizza ! I'm not a fan of deep dish
I grew up in NY , so I like my thin crust. But this is one of the best deep dish I've had to date! We got there at 11:30 on a Friday and got a seat , but if you get there at 12 or later you may get turned down
Really like this out of the way place !!

We traveled all the way from Florida to try this pizza. We were greeted by a rude cashier/hostess. She told us we could not have any one of the empty tables, despite closing time is in THREE HOURS! So we decided to order takeout. She was rude taking our order and not explaining our choices. There was no paper menu and we were instructed to scan the code to see the menu digitally. Wait time was supposed to be 45 minutes but we waited outside in our car for over an hour. My husband decided to call them. The same girl rudely told us that our pizza isn't ready and that we will get a text when it is. Within two seconds, we got the text. Did she forget about us? Uncut deep dish to go for out of state visitors and we were not even provided with silverware to cut and eat this. Finally!!! We tried Pequod's. The crust is thick and hard like a rock and the toppings are on top, cheese and sauce are under it. The crust is thick and salty with no flavor. The sauce was bland. The burnt cheese edge around the crust was absolutely disgusting. It was not a great thing to eat at all. Very disappointed in such poor customer service and in the quality of their Chicago Deep Disp.

The best pizza in Chicago. The wait time might be a bit long so I would recommend making a reservation. I love the pizza here and always have. This is a place to truly experience deep dish pizza. The flavors of the pizza truly are what give Chicago its name for deep dish pizza.

I liked the pan pizza a lot. More than enough in portions. The only problem was that my wife who is gluten free had a tough time finding anything to eat. They were out of gluten free crust is what the waiter said. The quality and taste were spot on. Wings could have been better and need to have an option were they aren't breaded.

Cool bar ambiance. Service was a bit slow, but friendly. Pizza takes 45min so make sure you have time to spare. Pizza was generous on cheese, sauce, toppings and dough (even for thin crust). We were disappointed by the pizza since we came a long distance to try this place based on positive reviews. Their crust is original but has a strange texture— would recommend to try another traditional deep dish places if you are visiting and have limited time

Quick service. Great food. This is the Chicago taste. I asked our waitress what toppings would go on a Chicago pizza and I admit I was skeptical of her suggestions. But I went with it and we were surprised by the bold flavors that worked so well together. Toppings: garlic, giardiniera, green pepper, onion, sausage. Highly recommend. Depending on the group, could split one personal pizza and an appetizer. The pizza is as deep as a soup bowl! Love the mascot.

Legendary pizza. Unless you get there right at open, there will probably be a wait, but it is definitely worth it. Both the deep dish and thin crust are excellent. If you’re with a group, order both and the thin crust might come out prior to the deep dish and it’s like a pizza appetizer for your pizza main course. Friendly service and a very good beer list as well.

If you want legit Chicago deep dish, look no more. Focaccia style crust with an amazing marinara. The edges look burnt but make the pie incredible. The manager was absolutely wonderful too helping us figure out how to take this goodness back home with us. If you miss this, was Chicago even worth it?

This is hands down the absolute best deep dish pizza in the city of Chicago. I had family in town from Houston, TX a few weeks ago that wanted to eat something authentic. I couldn’t think of a better place to take them. The food was top notch, the service was excellent, and the drinks were never empty (beer that is) lol. I have been here many times over the years and it’s always consistently great.

Very good deep dish pizza! Highly recommend if you are visiting and want to try some local deep dish! Als their fries are really good too! They have local rotating beers for pubs nearby and we happened to get an orange sour and it was one of the better beers I had! Customer service was also very attentive and friendly.

Quite an interesting place to say the least. I'm sure dining in would've an even wonderful experience. I got a 14 inch large pan with cheese, a 7 inch pizza with sausage, and mozzarella sticks all for $50. I thought the pizza was good. A little doughy to my liking but good. The sausage was my favorite with the flavor and compact fullness of it. Would love to come back here for an experience.

The pizza ingredients were nice, but the overall experience was so so. The cocktails felt very light, and the pizza wasn't holding the ingredients together.

Other info: The personal size was good for 1.5-2 people. It takes about 30-40 mins for the pan pizza to come out. The staffs were nice.

I’m not a deep dish kinda girl but I had to try it since I’m visiting Chicago. My hubby and I shared a pan cheese pizza. The sauce was delicious and cheesy with just the right flavoring. It was good! Service was quick and friendly. This place is a must try if you’re wanting a slice of the famous Chicago deep dish pizza.

I had been looking forward to this pizza for months and it absolutely exceeded expectations. I had the personal size well done, with pepperoni, cut. I don’t know if a more perfect flavor profile and texture exists. It’s like pan pizza and deep dish pizzas came together and had a beautiful, burnt, crunchy, tangy pizza baby. It’s so rich and indulgent with so much amazing flavor. There are so few places that are worth the hype. This is absolutely worth the hype. I ordered ahead and opted to eat on a bench outside. They kept it warm before I arrived so it was burning hot as I ate it. I just don’t know if I’ve had many happier food moments in my life.

Decent experience, decent pizza. I walked in and immediately appreciated the welcoming old-school ambiance. The night before someone had been delivering Pequod’s in my building. That’s why when I stumbled upon it on a photography adventure, I was eager to give it a try. A single slice of cheese pizza plus a Diet Pepsi was going to be over $8 but I went for it anyway. The front desk guy told me it was going to be about ten minutes so I wandered around, snapped some photos, and grabbed an open seat of which there were many in the restaurant. When the guy brought the pizza out, I said “do you mind if I just eat it here?” He said, “actually we have a reservation coming in for that table…” I said ok and just sucked it up, asked for some Parmesan cheese and took my slice outside but I had to eat it without a table in the blowing wind. That didn’t match the welcoming ambiance I was hoping for and expecting… the pizza was just decent anyway… good ingredients but wasn’t really holding together when I tried to eat it. Maybe I’ll give Pequod’s another try sometime and I’m hoping for a better experience with better customer service if I’m going to be paying that much for a single slice of pizza.

The pizza is so good. I knew it would be good looking at it but man in person it was just ridiculous. I recommend getting a reservation they were booked full at 8pm on a Wednesday. They said the pizza would take and hour and it maybe took 35 minutes and the awesome waiter was super attentive given how busy they were. It’s an astoundingly good value, a two inch thick deep dish 12” pizza with one topping and two drinks for less than thirty bucks at one of the places that’s consistently voted top 5 pizza in Chicago? Yeah I’ll take that any day. I live in the suburbs and I’d drive twice as far to get this. Ridiculous.

It’s been said, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” In turn, when visiting Chicago, you try the deep dish pizza! ????

Everyone knows that Giordano’s is iconic, but before I give them a try I figure it would be good to try all the other deep dish pizzerias in the game, right? I’m a New Yorker to my core and know many a well loved pizzeria in NYC for that coveted slice of NY Style perfection. But I’m in Chicago and word on the street is that Pequod’s Pizza rivals Giordano’s any day. Okay…challenge accepted.

I’ve enjoyed pizza in Rome, Tuscany, Florence, & New York City. Pequod’s pizza is so dang delicious that I will be returning for another medium size pie with garlic, basil, and pepperoni. I will thoroughly enjoy it on my own instead of sharing it. It was quintessential Chicago deep dish and the cheese pull on this pizza is like watching a perfectly edited pizza commercial but it’s happening in real life.

The feel of the restaurant is like a cozy dive bar with exceptional food and very okay cocktails. I ordered a margarita and could barely taste the tequila because it was drowned in Roses Sweetened Lime juice. As a bartender for a solid 5 years in NYC, I’m boogie about my cocktails. Sorry, not sorry. Overall I enjoyed the vibe and looking forward to one more visit to eat some deep dish pizza before I return to NYC.

This is some good pizza! We each got a personal deep dish. Mine was a pepperoni/sausage/mushroom and the other was a combo. This was my 1st time here, wow!! The crust on this pizza, amazing. Sausage is perfect! We also got wings and they were good but I forgot about them when the pizza came out, haha. It was busy but thankfully we got a seat. We were on the 1st floor and I think there is more seating upstairs. Employee are helpful and friendly for being so busy. A rude customer came in while we were paying upset about wearing a mask, ugh. I commend the manager for having to deal with this more times than not. I want them to be open so I can enjoy some good pizza, do what you gotta do.
Menu on QR code. Parking on the street, pay the meter. Picked up some pizzas a couple days later to travel back home with. My new favorite. Thanks Pequods!
