Visited for the first time this November for our anniversary and we were very content with our dinner. Our waitress was amazing, she was very nice and gave great recommendations. We sat in a booth towards the front of the restaurant. They are very cozy and intimate which we liked. The oysters were pretty good, the bread was amazing, the steak was also a 9/10 and the mashed potatoes were great! We also had a slice of the chocolate cake which didn’t disappoint & requested some ice cream with it which was also a perfect match.
# Famous Steakhouse in Chicago
I went there last week with 16 friends. We had two tables each 8 people. They're food good but noisy because tables were so close and music volume was laoud.
Their birthday one piece of cake and fire light was so special plate.

We really enjoyed our experience here. Great service and fare. The ambiance is really cool too — like many buildings in Chicago, it has a cool Prohibition era vibe. The West Coast oysters, lamb chops and the KC Strip (served on a searing 500-degree plate) were fantastic, and the charred corn, green beans and lobster mac sides were great as well. Be warned that it’s pricey; we dropped around $540 on a three course meal, a bottle of wine and a couple drinks.

I love this place. There is some char to the meat but it's nice and juicy. After all courses are considered it's worth the money. I'm not crazy about the pasta shape for the mac n cheese. The desserts and the bacon are a must. I love the banana creame pie. Whisky sour was perfectly sweet. Our waiter was great. I don't recall waiting a long time to be served. You do have to make a reservation in advance for a nice seat.

Wonderful location and excellent service. A great spot for date night or business dinners, I saw a mix of both. I ordered the Wedge salad, aged ribeye and shared a variety of side dishes. The steak was incredible! My favorite side was the corn dish, really delicious. Banana cream pie for dessert was equally fantastic. I was so busy enjoying my meal, I didn't think to take any pictures! I hope to be back next time I'm in town!

We could not have asked for better experience!! My husband and I took my cousin and her husband here for her Birthday Dinner and all of us RAVED ABOUT THIS PLACE! We were all visiting from out of town and wanted a great steakhouse and so glad we opted to dine here.
The ambiance is so modern and sexy. Our server was absolutely hilarious, and so accommodating! The whole staff was just great and welcoming. Then we got our food…EVERY BITE WAS DIVINE! We all got the Ribeye, bone in, Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese, broccoli and creamed corn. We are definitely picky eaters, as in wanting our food to be seasoned well and we were all so happy. Then we got a lovely assortment of birthday desserts and by then we needed to be carried out of there . We are SO THANKFUL for such a memorable experience. Thank you so much this amazing staff for EXCEEDING our expectations!

We had a good experience. We went at night and the ambience was a cool dimly lit space. Service was a little slow at first but eventually picked up. We got a couple of steaks, rib eye, a burger and they all tasted pretty good. We had sweet white wine (moscato d'asti) as well which was honestly one of the best wines I've had in a while. Dessert was nice, the creme brulee I had was great. The staff were pleasant and efficient at their jobs. Would visit again.

lets start off by saying the lobster mac and cheese is hands down one of the most delicious things i’ve had. (it’s not in the menu so be sure to ask for it) the steak was great and the experience was very nice especially when they make the mac and cheese table side.
the cigar lounge is not as advertised, i thought you would be able to enjoy a smoke while eating but it’s off to the back and only after you’ve eaten can you go. (that didn’t stop me from ordering one to enjoy after!) cigar selection is not too bad either mostly premium sticks.

This was my first time visiting Prime & Provisions. I immediately noticed the “and” symbol is used as decor throughout the restaurant which is pretty cool. It reminded me of a popular steakhouse in Shanghai because they also have this concept of using the and symbol. Although the lighting in the restaurant was dim, I was expecting the dining room to be a bit more colorful based off of the pictures I had seen on OpenTable. I guess during the editing of the photos, they just turned up the saturation a bit to make it seem more colorful. Ehh, minor disappointment but these are the things that I look for when fine dining. Anyway, dinner was good. I ordered the New England Clam Chowder, the lamb chops, the salmon, and the S’mores dessert. The chowder was good. I was very disappointed with the lamb though. I am very familiar with the charbroiling cooking technique, however all I tasted was char. I literally could not taste the lamb. I rarely complain about my food but I had to send it back. I ordered the salmon instead. I guess the Miso Glazed Salmon is quite popular throughout steakhouses in Chicago because this is the third restaurant I’ve been to that has the exact same salmon dish. I love salmon but I kind of wish I would’ve tried a different fish. The S’mores dessert was great! The server sent it out with a sparkler to make it more festive, which I enjoyed. The dessert was in a chocolate sphere and the server poured a hot caramel sauce over the top of it for it to melt into what was inside. I loved the layers of ice cream, chocolate, caramel, and graham cracker, Heath bar crunch. So yummy. I ordered two cocktails, Peach Spritz and Prime Southside. Both were decent. All in all, I enjoyed my visit to Prime & Provisions. Christian (our server) was accommodating and helpful with suggestions.

This used to be on my top list for steakhouses in the city but after visiting this past weekend it fell off. My server was never around. We were fasting and it took him 15 minutes to come back after he greeted us. Then another 15 after he took our drink orders. It seemed like his whole section of customers were just as confused. Not sure if he was drunk or high but something was going on I could tell. Service fell to 1 star
As for food it was bland. Not too much seasoning and my mom got the $70 lamb chops that were not well rested before being served. My chicken was not hot it was room temperature. We were starving from fasting so of course no complaints. It’s sad because maybe the steaks are the only good things. I had the French onion soup and that was probably the best thing. The beet salad was also good. 2 stars.
Towards the end the manager came around (she had some sort of accent) and asked if everything was ok. I said it was fine and asked her if they are having difficulties keeping up with maybe very little staff due to COVID and she said not really what’s wrong? And I said well our server just has not been very attentive to us. She apologized and moved on.
I’ve been to prime numerous of times and even celebrated my birthday in December of 2020 outside in the tent in the cold. And service was amazing. The food was excellent. But now? I’m not sure what happened. After spending $300 you think it would be worth it.
Definitely make your way to Maple & Ash or Bavettes bar down the street for the best of the best.

Came here twice (first time was to try their steak and this time is to try their happy hour menu). I highly recommend their happy hour (Monday-Friday 4pm-6pm). I’m so impressed with the quality of the $1 oysters, $14 lobster rolls, and $8 espresso martini. Finally found a great place for my oyster cravings in Chicago.

Amazing experience and well worth the price tag for the meal along with the service. The sides were a bit small but the steaks cooked to perfection. Definitely get the old fashioned as it truly is one of the best in the city!!
