This is a must if you are looking for some of the best pizza in Chicago. The owner actually works there on a daily basis and came up with his own sour dough starter. Some of the best pizza you will ever have. A lot of thought and hard work went into this place.

Robert’s is a unique Chicago pizza joint. They don’t do deep dish or the traditional Chicago thin crust. The pizza here is closer to New York style, but with an incredible amount of love baked in.

We have been coming to Robert’s for years. Our worst experience was a 4 star, but it averages 5 star.

Tips:
- In the summer, call ahead to get a table outside by the water. It feels like Amsterdam.
- 1 pizza is big enough for 2 people if they are light eaters. If it’s your first time, order 1 pizza per person and try different ones. Worst case you have to take some home. ????
- The salads are hit and miss.
- If they have a special pizza, give it a try. Every time we have tried one, it’s been amazing, and they don’t keep them around often.

We live a block away but have been driving away for our pizza as our impression was that these nice places on the river would be too touristy with inflated reviews. Well, that was till we found out Robert's Pizza and Dough Co. is (to our knowledge) the only place that makes a seafood pizza and that's what brought us here. Not only was the seafood pizza incredible, but the crust dough tastes delicious with a very unique flavor to it. I used to look down at any pizza that wasn't using sourdough, but their pies aren't Neapolitan and aren't trying to be. I also tried the duck prosciutto pizza out of curiosity, and I must say it was disappointing but it's not what brought us here. The duck flavor just didn't work, and was overall overwhelming the dough/crust and sauce flavor. We also had the Burrata appetizer, and it was creamier than other pizzerias in the neighborhood, and was made even better with the incredible fig or dates jam. We had both on two occasions. Robert himself was seen talking to patrons and to us throughout our delightful stay this afternoon. Overall we had a great time and we know we're coming back for more seafood pizza and maybe a margherita pizza.

Such a fun and casual pizza spot located along the Chicago River (Ogden Slip). Having tried over more than a dozen types of pizza, I must say that this pizza is something I would eat every day. The dough is definitely their specialty but the body of the pizza can be a tad bit thicker to avoid soggyness/floppyness. We came 30min prior to Happy Hour ending and opted for a couple of cocktails as well as Marinated Olives which were "like buttah!" Ambience was excellent and service was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be coming back for a full Happy Hour experience or other.

A great pizza in the heart of Chicago.
I have heard good things about this place and I went to check it out. Very surprised about the quality of the food and the “Sopressata” pizza was incredible. I am from Italy and from Calabria and those flavors brought me back home.
Price is reasonable for the quality and the quantity. Servers were very nice!
A very nice surprise and absolutely recommended!

Cocktails were cool and refreshing on a hot summer day. We got the Mediterranean salad which was crispy and the banana pepper olive combo was delicious. The mushroom pizza paired well with the cream sauce. We also ordered the chorizo pizza and added the arrabiatta sauce on top. Overall, the drinks and appetizers were better than the pizza.

Personally I feel this place is hidden gem and easily passed up! We Made reservations on open table for the patio for 4 adults and 1 baby (10 month old) for a Saturday afternoon. It was such nice weather and located in a low key area which it doesn’t feel so crowded and congested.

Staff is amazing from the moment of just checking in! Everyone is very friendly and attentive. We met one staff member who was even talking to us about their local burrata because the burrata is flipping amazing! Some of the best calamari I’ve had in Chicago and one of the only places in Chicago that makes GOOD seafood pizza. All of their pizzas are incredible, fresh and the crust dough tastes delicious. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to try Robert's Pizza for a few years. Got drinks there once sitting by their perfect location on the Ogden Slip, but today was my day.

So my cousin and I headed there. A bit rainy today and a little chilly, but we opted to sit by the open sliding windows.

I called the manager over to find out what the crust was made of due to my serious food allergies. Last restaurant I went to was Saturday in Streeterville & theirs had SOY FLOUR. What? My Italian Grandmothers are both spinning in their graves. (I left without ordering.)

The manager was kind and double-checked and the reassured me it's only wheat flour. Perfecto!

Our waitress was Katie. Very sweet as was another blonde gal there who talked about how much she loves working at Robert's (nice to hear.)

We ordered the Lia covered with black olives. (My next time I want the one with prosciutto and arugula...that sounds delish.)

It took about 35 minutes or so to get our pizza. It looked incredible. We dove in. (Hence the lack of photos showing an entire pizza...lol)

My cousin has been to Italy and her comment was it reminded her of the pizza in Italy. My comment was Holy Sh$#, this is amazing!! (Hope no one heard me.)

I admit my fav pizza is Spacca Napoli, but I have to say that this very closely rivals Spacca.

The crust is the perfect combo of soft, chewy, and a little bit of crisp. The sauce delicious.

Robert truly perfected this crust.

I did download their app. It's very glitchy. I still suggest you download it. I saw my points posted already.

The pizza, location, excellent service, and nice atmosphere makes this a 5-star place.
Perfect spot for a date.

Thank you, Robert's Pizza.

Okay,
We are not from the city, but we were visiting our son in the city. We saw Robert's Pizza while we were heading back from downtown. Fortunately we had our vaccination cards with lol. Calamari for a starter, which was lightly breaded and very delicious. The sauce had a slight bite to it which blended with the flavor of the calamari real well. My wife had the Apple hazelnut salad with shrimp. She also had a Mai Tai. I had the chicken parmesan sandwich with the side salad. I also had a whiskey sour. My wife ordered a coffee afterwards which she said was fantastic. Our lunch was a real treat, the food was fantastic all the way around A+++. The drinks were maybe a B. Not quite an A but I'm not complaining. I would be remiss not to mention Jose B. He is an excellent server and a fine human being. And our conversation was very enjoyable. Also, the young latina hostess was very kind and polite she also had some of the most beautiful made up eyes that we've seen in a long time. So, I wish I grabbed her name.

The crust wasn't burnt and was soft enough to bite into. However, the crust was really burnt in some areas. Rare to find that here. I also love thin crust and the menu items are so unique! The seafood pizza was interesting!

We went to this place on Sunday evening. It was not too crowded. Service was fast. We ordered Mediterranean salad which was very fresh and tasty. We also ordered a seafood pizza. It was a good choice except the pizza was a little cold. Otherwise I’d give them a 5-star. I’d recommend if you like gourmet pizzas.

If you're looking for a delightful pizza feast by the river, Robert's pizza is the best place to go! Their pizza is phenomenal - best crust ever. Gnocchi was good and hearty. Fried calamari - perfectly cooked, but a little underseasoned. Pricey, but good.

Overall, it was a great dining experience by the river.

Had a nice dinner here, food was good though maybe not outstanding. Our server was a bit impatient with us, as they seem to want to be very fast-paced.

Their patio, especially the level that’s down near the water, is quite lovely. And the pizza is very tasty.
