Ordered a simple birthday cake for about 8-10 people. Was charged $100 so I was expecting great quality for the price. The bread was very dry and crumbly almost tasted old. The writing was off center and sloppy. Very rushed. Definitely not worth the price at all. Would look else where
I've ordered 1 cake, picked up another cake for a coworker, and have had may pastries from this bakery. They are the favorite bakery in my office. The cakes were beautiful and everybody loved the decorations and the decadent flavours. Each time I go, I try something new and I haven't had anything short of delicious so far. The staff are nice and pleasant. If you are going to order a custom cake, do your best to give them 2 weeks as they deserve the ability to plan ahead. If you have a chance, I would try them.

HONESTLY I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH ROESERS THIS YEAR. PAID $85 FOR A CUPCAKE CAKE AND IT LOOKED AWESOME BUT THE QUALITY/TASTE WAS HORRIBLE. NEVER HAD SUCH A DRY OVERCOOKED CUPCAKE IN MY LIFE. THEY TRIED TO SAVE IT BY FILLING THEM WITH WHIP CREAM PUT IT WAS STILL PRETTY BAD. WON’T BE GOING BACK FOR A WHILE. I HOPE THEY GET IT TOGETHER.

Much like the now closed Dinkel’s; Roeser’s is a much loved bakery in the heart of Humbolt Park neighborhood for over 100 years. This is an iconic and excellent bakery. I chose a few of the many tasty treats settling for red velvet cupcake, tiramisu, bundlette, napoleon and a cream filled donut. Im looking forward to making this place a to-go for those special times, or just any day that end in “y”. (Closed Mondays)

I spent almost $100 for a cake because someone said they were professional. I spent 90 minutes giving very specific details of the cake. I showed them a picture and compared it to one of the beautiful princess round cakes they already had. I asked that Pinky pie was put on the cake and that the Mane of the horse be the border of the cake like the frozen princess cake they had. There was no fondue unicorn horn. They was suppose to send me an email of approval and I didn't get one. I asked for writing on my cake. It's on the box and misspelled. I can't get another cake. Its too late. My daughter birthday is today. They're closed on Monday and already said they wasn't going to fix my issue or refund me anything. I won't be recommending them to anyone.

Roesers bakery is an institution in North avenue in the Logan square/Humboldt Park area. Look for the vintage sign on the building. It has been run by the same family since 1911. The bakery has a number of pastries from cookies to donuts to cakes to fun items in between. I know they do custom cakes for birthdays and weddings etc. They are always busy and there is often a line out the door So make sure you get there early! My favorite thing they make is some kind of pastry with cream and strawberries on it, I can't remember what it is called. They also serve homemade ice cream, which is a good treat in the summer.

Cakes, cookies, and doughnuts!!! What more do you want! Get the custard doughnut! Any of them are to die for! Also, get a banana bite. So yum! You know when you’re standing in line for a food place, going to be really good.

Roesers bakery is near my home and since we wanted to buy a Rosca de Reyes, (3 kings bread) we decided to stop by, I was not sure if they will have it or not but on the window they had 3 boxes showing the different sizes they had. There was a long line to get to the front, it took some time to get the service, most people were picking up cakes, some making orders. And some just picking up bread or donuts. After waiting that long, they told us they had run out of that bread. They could have saved us the time by either removing the boxes in the window or putting up a small sign that they were out of that bread. I know they were busy like always but that could have saved me some time this visit.

The Roeser’s Bakery is a time capsule that’s continued to bring joy to the neighborhood in its continued run since its inception in 1911. A true Chicago staple. Anyone that’s ever come in touch with this place has fallen in love with its timeless charm.
When you walk in, you’ll be greeted like you’re family and the staff make sure that you find something scrumptious to take away with you at the end of your visit.
Roeser’s makes custom cakes and larger orders and they have fresh bread and pastries on the daily. They offer a Cornucopia of coffee cake varietals; baby shower shaped cakes (like rattles, baby feet and umbrellas); miscellaneous shaped cakes ( guitars, castles, animal faces etc); various delicious breads and homemade ice cream variations and round and sheet cakes.
I’ll have to stop by and take proper interior photos and video soon. Meanwhile, do yourself a favor and stop by and experience this sweet spot for yourself.
