I work just a couple blocks away and have always enjoyed coming here for lunch on the patio. However, my wife and I recently-hosted a welcome party here - it was nothing short of fantastic. Staff was attentive to each guest, they were flexible to any quick drink menu changes, and the food was fantastic.
If you are looking for great views and drinks, South Branch is the place.
We ordered the Brussels Sprouts and the Tuna Nachos, both are delicious. For dessert we got the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, would definitely come back for it on cold winter nights.
It’s crowded with upbeat vibes especially after work hours, perfect spot for happy hour.
I gave 4 stars because the service was very slow.
The outdoor seating is so nice and overlooks the river.

Went here with my team for lunch on a weekday, and it’s a great corporate lunch spot with outdoor seating. We ordered a bunch of starters, and the best were by far the bang bang shrimp and the cheese curds (of course going for the fried goodies)! But if you want to be on the healthier side, the hummus is HUGE and very yummy. We also got the burrata, which was just alright.
For the main, I got the southwest chicken salad with a side of sweet potato fries. Both are huge portions, and the fries are great for sharing. The salad is a decent healthy option with on point flavors.
Lunch took more than an hour for us, so make sure you have enough time!

Great place for a private event/company happy hour. The charcuterie board was simple. The drinks were pretty standard. I liked the location right on the river, it had a nice view from inside and from the patio. The patio was also larger than most places on the river have so there were a lot of seats available.

Linda who served me at the bar pushed this review from a 4 to a 5 for me. She provided great service, was friendly and provided great conversation.
I went after a work function...I booked a later train in the event I was able to meet up with people. I was in search of a snack and a couple drinks after my adventure... Linda was very attentive throughout my few hours there. I didn't have a reservation (the wait was over an hour) and there were some open seats at the bar.
I ordered a Cranberry mojito and wine with the charcuterie board. The board met expectations but personal experience with them had me wanting more variety. There were some nice touches though.
Its definitely a good starter for a group...possibly 2 people. I didn't finish it... I maybe got through half of it.

Perfect location for lunch from Union Station. 6 minutes to waterside dining that offers great service and fresh options. Aperol spritz came to my emotional rescue .

This is a good lunch spot if you're working in the south loop. The restaurant is located by the river which offers a really nice view. There's also a lot of seating available and they can accommodate large groups as well which is perfect for team lunches. For the food, they offer a variety of choices and cuisines. They have burgers, seafood options, salads , wraps and there's also a full bar for drinks. Their appetizers are also very good. Must try are buffalo rolls and cheese curds.

Great place for lunch with coworkers. Didn't get to try the drinks because it was 12 pm on a Wednesday :( but it looked like a decent selection. Service was prompt and lighting was good. Great view of the river too. Not too noisy as well. Overall pretty nice place.

Good, solid American food served in a bright and cheerful dining room with attentive table service. Cocktails are delicious and inspired. Menu is not extensive, but there is something to please most palates. Our office dined here. I believe the menu, prices, and location make this an ideal venue for any business meal during or after the work day. This would also be a pleasant setting for a date, pre-theater dinner, or after-show cocktail. I would return for any of these reasons.
