@ Michelle, here is what we did with the leftovers. Photo does not include Beurre Blanc sauce that was drizzled a top.

Wonderful selection of sake and beers. Sashimi was outstanding-- perfectly thick slices that melt in your mouth. Michelle was very knowledgeable with regards to the sake list and provided excellent recommendations that were out of my comfort zone. It made the meal so much fun! Looking forward to returning.

Always enjoy North side restaurant but when in pinch for Tanoshii.... Always consistently fresh ???? and some of the best rolls in the city. Fish and chips, Salmon truffle... Omakase for $65 is a must. You will not leave hungry or disappointed.

Best Sushi My family and I have ever had!! Beautifully designed family owned restaurant with high quality authentic sushi. The service was quick and friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and would explain all the dishes as they were served. My cousin, Jada, is a regular so she ordered all of her favorite dishes for us to try: Fish and Chips, Hamachi Kama, Omakase nigiri and sashimi, Omakase special rolls, etc. ???????????? I posted pictures below if you want to ask the waiter what to order and be in sushi heaven!

The only reason I can't be vegan. So many interesting combinations. The mushroom roll is my favorite but also just tried a roll with fried capers, so good!

Tanoshi is the most consistent sushi restaurant in chicago. The sushi always tastes incredible. The staff are also amazing. Ask for Michelle! She is the best and knows what to order. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Easily one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to!! The sushi was incredible - so fresh!! Our waitress was warm and friendly. Drinks were great, music was great, overall 10/10!! I can’t recommend this place enough!

I sat at the bar and the experience was amazing. Very fresh sushi and very good beer, saki and whiskey selection. Was served by Michelle and she gave great recommendations both on the food and drinks. Couldn't be happier.

Interesting how they do the chef's specialty rolls. You just tell the waiter what you like and they create it... I thought it was fun, Others did not.
Also our waiter was extremely patient. We had one person that was 45 minutes late... We tip appropriately

Amazing experience and food. Highly recommend the Omakase experience. I have allergies and we were able to eat more food than we could imagine with no issues at all. The cocktails were equally amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Tanoshii has great fresh fish options if you’re into it. The fish and chips is amazing. Their non-traditional take on the rolls is something worth trying where the chef takes some creative liberty and uses ingredients that are rarely used in sushi rolls. We went for the full omakase with chef’s recommendations. While the flavors hit the right marks, it would’ve been nice to have a bit more variety in the rolls.

Ordered the omakase experience, overall felt overpriced for the number/quality of dishes. My favorite was the seared bluefin appetizer. The fish and chips and scallop were good but one-note.

This is by far the best sushi in Chicago hands down. My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place by chance and fell in love with it. Then we couldn’t figure out where we had gone for a while and found it again and their menu had changed slightly but it was still the delicious sushi place we had been to before. The fish there is just so fresh tasting. The combinations of flavors they put in their rolls are amazing. I absolutely love this place and we go back there at least once every time my boyfriend is in town. HIGHLY recommend.

Some of the best sushis I have experienced. All the plates are original and unique and ingredients are fresh. Make sure to check the sake selection to pair with you meal for a memorable dinner.
