Best tacos de al pastor - estilo D.F.
Edit: new owner/name of restaurant. I haven't eaten there since the changes. Changing review to 3 stars because I haven't been here yet.

By far my favorite place to eat tacos close to 26th street. Their al pastor tacos have the most authentic flavor even compared to other local restaurants. Highly recommend this spot!

Español: Pastor tradicional, lo más cercano al sabor del pastor mexicano a un precios accesibles.
English: I have been looking for a good place to eat tacos al pastor with my friends. Most of the places in Chicago do not cook the pork for the pastor the traditional way (en trompo). Hence, the pastor tacos are usually very greasy and moist. However, in Taqueria Los Barrilitos they cook the pork on a trompo which makes the meat crispy, soft, and delicious. My friends from Mexico City told me the tacos here are the closest to the traditional tacos al pastor in the city. They also pair the tacos with an amazing salsa verde and salsa roja.
My only complain would be that they ran out of pineapple last time I was there.
Also, it is cash only.

Not the best tacos , I had high hopes!
They tasted really dry the asada meat was really tough to chew on. Wouldn’t recommend!!! Doesn’t deserve that 1 star lol.

Found this place on the thrillist website as some of the best tacos on Chicago. Had the Al pastor and asada tacos. Next time I'm skipping the asada, not that they weren't good, but the Al pastor tacos were so much better.
Tip: cash only
