The meat was perfectly seasoned and the fries beautifully salted. The smashed patty had caramelized lacy edges that extended far beyond the bun and were crispy. The burger is served with Mayo and relish that tied this burger together. Overall really impressed and will definitely be back! Outdoor seating is a huge bonus in the summer.
the burger is very good esp because of the relish. The strawberry shake was very delicious as well.
it gets 4/5 because the fries were terrible (chilli cheese fries were gross prob worst fries i’ve ever had)

Its far from the city but has the best burgers in Chicago. Chicago has many, many burger places, so this is really saying something. Most importantly, this has the perfect crispy smash burger texture. Lots of places do a smash burger, but most lose the crispy texture somewhere between the grill and your plate. Not here. Just look at the lace in the pictures posted here.
Other things I like: the peppers add good texture, spice, and flavor. I loved the peppery, bitter habaneros. Solid buns.

Amazing smash burgers with good special sauce. My advice is to get the burgers and skip their apps/sides.

The perfected patty smash execution is something that at home would render my kitchen and person ravaged with beef oil and smell for days, and for a seven ounce patty, I think The Region burger is an excellent deal.
Service is super fast, with hot grease dripping off the finished patty's lacing as it arrived in front of me. I have no nostalgia for any other burger experience accompaniments like milkshakes or fries. I even eat the burger sans cheese -- an automatic option for many -- just so I can receive an undistracted experience of the exceptionally prepared beef.

Region burgers are my favorite, love everything about them. I know the price for the burgers is a little steep, but honestly I don’t mind. What did bother me was the union rings. I paid $8.50 for 6 onion rings. Come on guys I understand times are tough right now, but that’s a ridiculous amount for union ring. I’ll continue to support your business. I just won’t get the onion rings again.

Awesome little Burger joint in Roscoe Village. I'm from Indiana so you have to bring your A-game when you put a smashburger on the menu and they definitely delivered! I got the Regionette and it was spot on! I just had a side of fries with the burger. The fries were okay nothing to write home about as the burger is the star of the show. Super nice staff clean and I like that you can sit outside on a nice day and enjoy your food.

A phenomenal smash burger in Roscoe Village that’s BYOB. The owner cares a lot about his product quality, but he needs to move into a bigger space because The Region is very small. That’s my only criticism, but if you’re looking for an awesome smash cheeseburger, The Region is the spot to go to. Hands down, bar none.

Great burgers and great representation of northwest Indiana style burgers(smash style, lacy edges). In my opinion they're better than Schoop's!
Walked in and I'm pretty sure the owner is who had helped us and served us. Very nice and down to earth, natural customer service. Said he grew up in Merrillville Indiana(about 45 minutes away from chicago) which is where we live near by so that was super neat!
Burgers-delicious, juicy-but not too greasy, lacy flattened edges that exceed the limits of the bun but in the best way possible. Those edges hold so much flavor and add a crisp texture when you bite into its side, which cuts right through that juicy goodness.
Annnnnnnd they have green river and green river shakes(like schoops if you're from northwest indiana!)

Amazing burgers, got with everything on it and the sauce was perfect. The lacey edges are crisp and delicious.
The onion rings are thickly breaded, a different style and fresh. The owner told us everything is made in house.
Not a lot of seating inside, maybe 4 tables max, but wasn't a problem when we went in the middle of the afternoon.

Good burgers and the sauce is pretty solid. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. But, the shakes only come in one size, small. The burgers don't come with fries and the side of onion rings was only 5 large onion rings..
Not bad food, but wayyyyyyy TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get.

Similar to Schoop’s, the burger is smashed and had crunchy ends, very tasty with the special sauce and relish. Definitely will get a double next time. However, the fries was a bit greasy for me but it was still good.

Wanted to do 3.5 star but didn't want to put them down to 3 star, so we'll go 4. Pros: like the small diner atmosphere. Fast service. Very friendly staff. The fried pickles were pretty good. Cons: Got the cheeseburger, was only slightly above average for my tastes - but that's just me. The pink sauce made the bun soggy.. Definitely more than I wanted to pay for what I got - but everything is expensive these days. Overall would go again.

A saucy smash burger = best of both worlds. Look at that lacy edge, so good! Visited Chicago for a short trip and made the trek from our Airbnb to this place. 100% worth the 30min walk in 26*F + wind weather.

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I like flat burgers and these were really flat. I got the regionette which has half the beef of the original but it was plenty. My only complaint is that it took 30 minutes to make my one burger and there wasn't many people there.
