Ribs were as great as everyone says, really fall off the bone. If your a bit afraid of hot stuff like me, don't shy away from the sauce that is served with the Onion Rings (also excellent) it's wonderful. Also, the only reason I can think that a SMALL minority criticize the ribs would be because there prefer tough chewy ribs your have to gnaw at. These are fall off the bone tender.
Finally, wonderful friendly waitress and owner. Made us feel really welcome.
It can get very crowded at dinner, but I highly suggest coming here as a late lunch place. Walk half-way into the restaurant, passed the bar to the host stand to get a table or put your name on the list. Great old fashioneds, onions rings are good and the ribs are perfect. Go for the zesty/spicy sauce - it isn’t hot - it is flavorful.

Iconic place with rich history for both my family and this restaurant. My mom grew up on North Park and came when dating my dad in the 1950's. Now here I am, I've coming all my life. Now to the food-the only thing I have ever ordered here are the ribs-original sauce. You get a choice of fries or baked potato, coleslaw, and of course a pickle. Tender, fall of the bone meat. The zesty sauce has a little more kick, darker, with a more vinegar taste. They used to serve pumpernickel bread, but since the pandemic they can't get it. It has been replaced with a pretzel bun. We went on a Saturday afternoon and actually didn't need to pay the $15 valet charge. We parked on North Ave heading West. Betty, one of the employees there, has been there over 40 years. It's a gem of a place, and it won't disappoint. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars...it's a family favorite!

Terrible. The ribs were dry and the whole meal was very salty. I asked for ribs cooked with sauce. Basted ribs!! But twin anchors lied!! The cole slaw and cream spinach was terrible. One full rack of ribs was much smaller than the other.

I came by Tuesday, and I really had a craving for fish and chips. I did a Google search and found Twin Anchors had a version called a Fish Fry.
At first I didn’t think it was gonna be enough (as how most cravings usually work). Three nice size pieces of fish and old-school fries with coleslaw and tartar sauce bread and butter.
But it was more than enough it was so delicious crunchy flaky and filling, I loved everything about the meal.
The exterior and interior has a old school vibe (like Taverns I used to see growing up). Very nostalgic with signed photos of famous people that ate there, which I loved.
I received outstanding customer service.
The staff was so warm and friendly. I was welcomed back and to try the ribs, and I will!
I highly recommend Twin Anchors.

Just wanted to update our review, the ribs here are excellent, they fall off the bone. And the barbecue sauces are the best we’ve ever had. We also love the onion ring basket as an appetizer. Every time we visit Chicago this is a must stop for ribs. This is for tradition we have done since the early 80s. You won’t be disappointed

Couldn't believe it when out of town relatives suggested this restaurant! We used to go to Twin Anchors years ago when we lived in the city... Years ago! I remember it being a favorite rib place of Frank Sinatra's when he was in town... Like I said "years ago"! It was really nice to go back....

Casual and fun environment. Tried both the "Zesty" and "Prohibition" bbq sauces for my half-slab of ribs. I preferred the Prohibition, which was sweet and mildly spicy. I would also recommend the Zesty Beans.

We go to Twin Anchors every time we visit Chicago. The ribs are amazing. The location is in a residential area and there are no reservations but it is well worth the wait. Get there early if possible. The ribs come dry and very well seasoned with the sauce on the side. The sides are amazing too but the ribs are to die for.... one thing to keep in mind there is absolutely positively no dancing.

Ordered delivery of ribs (prohibition sauce), beans (zesty) and onion rings and loved all of it.
Really one of the best ribs I had and the onion rings were wonderful.

Comfy, cozy, immaculate vibes kind of place. Staff are kind, patrons gave off a kind vibe, all the beers we love were available. The ribs were pretty good and, overall just a really pleasant, positive feeling being here. Thanks Twin Anchors for being that extra-loved old space holding it down for decades. Chef’s kiss.

Rumoured to be an old favourite of Sinatra himself, and still true to that charm today! A neighbourhood bar feel, drawing visitors from across Chicago with excellent ribs and even better seasonal cocktails. This was real Chicago at its best and a highlight of my trip.

Ribs were awesome so was our server, Surass. Thanks! Super prompt and courteous. Took us longer to decide than it did for them to bring the food! Tasty choc cake to finish. Well worth a visit when you are in Chicago.

I don't understand how this place is not crazy crowded. The food is delicious, the bartenders are as friendly as their drinks are amazing. But I didn't mind the zero wait time. Sat at the bar as soon as I walked in. Love the feel in there. No wonder Sinatra loved it. I went for the Dark Knight history, left with a new must-visit spot whenever I'm in Chicago. Thank you!
