I had a great dining experience at Polanco. They have a great selection of high quality steaks and the sides pair perfectly. I ordered a really awesome drink that I can’t remember the name of but they light up the herbs with a torch before the por the mezcal into it. It was perfectly smoky and sweet at the same time and the whole preparation at your table is fun to watch and makes your mouth water in anticipation. Definitely returning to try out more steaks!

This is my new favorite restaurant. The aguachile was excellent. The cocktail and wine options are excellent. The staff treated us very well. They were super attentive and helpful... particularly Byron at the lower level bar. I will definitely be spending more time there.

Came for dinner and the food and drinks were great. I had the Pork Tomahawk and it was prepared perfectly. The Margarito Polanco was great too.

The staff was friendly and the decor was very relaxing. Will definitely come back.

Very pleasantly surprised. We saw this when we visited the coffee shop across the street a couple weeks ago. We decided to try it out for my birthday dinner. Highly impressed. The service was top notch. Extremely professional, friendly, and efficient. The tabletop creation and presentation for the drink I ordered was a great touch! The ceviche was terrific, the scallops presentation and portion was one of the best I've ever seen. My girlfriend's filet mignon was perfect. The fingerling potatoes were especially tasty. Dessert was Flan and even impressed my very discerning Durango MX born girlfriend. We will absolutely be back. If they keep this up, it'll be a winner in that neighborhood.

Lovely place to relax and have drinks. The food is unique as well as delicious, my sister and I had ceviche and guacamole and we were not disappointed. I must mention that the service deserves more than 5 stars because the staff makes sure that the customers are taken care of at all times. This will be my new hangout spot in LA.

Food was delicious. From cocktail drinks, appetizers, main entrée, and even side dishes. The Ceviche was one of my favorite appetizers and I am not a big seafood person.

New restaurant in our neighborhood had to try it! We sat out in the terrace it was lovely! Our server Natalia was awesome! And the food was amazing! Had the guacamole, the queso fundido and chicharrones as our starters then the pescado, rib eye, fillet mignon and New York steak as the main entrees, the portions are very generous, we also had the potato purée and Brussels sprouts as extra side orders. The drinks were on the light side though. I’ll definitely be back!

I got lucky enough to try this place during the soft opening and sat upstairs on the outdoor patio. The word "Mexican" and the word "Steakhouse" are two words that I don't hear put together often so of course I'm interested. Polanco is at the old Preux and Proper location that closed down and the layout is similar however the inside has been modernized to work with the restaurant theme.

We ordered the guacamole and Caesar salad appetizer plates to start. They don't have traditional chips and salsa like most Mexican restaurants, instead they have whole tostadas that you break by hand to dip in one of Polanco's three house sauces. The three dips included a red salsa, a spicy bean dip, and what I considered a molè-like-dark-roasted-tomatoe salsa. The guacamole came w cheese, cilantro, and chickpeas for a nice crunch. I would definitely get the guac again. The Caesar salad was good, a little too creamy with really hard to crunch croutons.

For entrees we had the Jidori Chicken Enchiladas and the Ribeye. The enchiladas came with a side of white rice and black beans. The enchiladas were the spiciest things on the table in my opinion but were light on chicken. We were hungry when we arrived, but had we not gotten appetizers, the enchilada entree wouldn't have been enough to fill up on alone. The ribeye looked a lot like a filet mignon to me and told the young server so. He insisted it was a ribeye but because of the way they cut their meat at the spice it looks different. ????‍♂️ So I ate the filet looking ribeye and it had good flavor. It's definitely a fire grill they are using on their steaks and you can taste it. The sides on the steak grilled cabbage, beans, a guacamole salsa, an onion and a jalapeno.

My wife also had a glass of Merlot but her favorite was a Malbec from Argentina that the staff brought out for us to try.

This is a unique restaurant and there is a place for it here in DTLA. I'd like to see and try more on the menu when they officially open up next week. Bottom line, you should try out this place!

Had the opportunity to check this place out a little early with some friends from Sweden and it was a fantastic time. The experience was really fun for them as a "Mexican" steakhouse isn't a common idea so new for us all. Great food and the waiter was fantastic. Looking forward to going back.
