Amazing this restaurant has been serving food since 1927! Great casual French food at affordable prices. We had the frogs legs, steak, and roast chicken. All were delicious! Service was wonderful as well. Definitely recommend.

Even for a historical venue, they still have a delicious menu for any occasion. Be it for a date night, birthday, or just being in the mood for simple French Cuisine with a lovely setting ; it's your choice. I forgot the name of the lovely waitress but she made it more pleasant and enjoyable for a birthday celebration, and the small things goes along way

Visited this gem of a restaurant and immediately loved the ambiance. We ordered the cheese platter, escargot and "Taix" roast chicken. Every dish was absolutely delicious!!! The food and service was exceptional! This restaurant reminding of being back in Paris and looking forward to dining here again.

Founded in 1927 Taix is still going strong today.

We chose to sit in the quieter dining area instead of the more lively bar area. The dishes served are somewhere between family style and single serving. We ordered one appetizer and two entrees and were satisfied sharing all of them.

The mussels were fresh and flavored well as was the paella we ordered. The steak was charred on the outside more than I would have preferred.

4 stars because of the steak but otherwise a nice experience.

I live in the neighborhood and finally decided to try this restaurant! I’m glad I did. The building is stuck in time and I mean that in the nicest way. The service is solid, efficient and everybody is genuinely nice. The food was delicious. It’s exactly what I wanted it to taste like. The drinks are strong and for their portion sizes, very affordable. Looking forward to trying all the specials.

First timer in this place tonight and after 25 years living in LA I finally went to this restaurant and let me tell the food is actually good and tasty, the prices are actually not to bad too, the staff is very nice and very friendly.
I totally recommend this place to family and friends the only thing I didn't like it was the noise, is a little bit to loud but I guess because I went in the rush hours on a Friday night?
I will try again definitely but another time and day that is not actually to busy and loud.

Family owned and founded in 1927 it’s been serving LA diners for generations. I would classify it as a bistro style and is certainly more casual and less expensive than many of the other French restaurants close by. While dining I overheard that there are plans to buy this current location by a developer to add housing and would most likely happen this year or next but I am unsure if that is true or not. They have a giant parking lot to the side and behind of the restaurant so parking is never a problem. The restaurant interior (also the street facing exterior) could use some sprucing up though as it looks like it has been opened for as long as it is.

I started off with the French Onion soup and it was honestly really good. It was done in the classic style and I would definitely order it again. For my entrée I chose the Short Ribs and they were pretty good. I liked how tender the meat was and the addition of pearl onions was a bonus. It was a very hearty meal and would be especially good for cold weather.

Overall I would recommend it to any fan of French food or anyone looking for a nice casual meal. It is not an anniversary, birthday, or important work dinner location however. Really hope I am incorrect that they will be closing this location because I plan to visit again and even if they move I will certainly try that new location as well.

This place is special!!! When you walk in your feel as if you’ve gone back in time to a different era of class… the service is great, the wine list is great, and the food tastes fantastic!! Also the price of everything is very reasonable, a whole meal with a vintage bottle was just over $100. Will be back soon

Overall, we had such a great time dining there! The food was delicious and the service was superb. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive (we forgot his name, but he wore a beret). We tried their escargot, which was to die for! We also had their lamb chop and steak and they were cooked perfectly!
