They did not provide quality food anymore. They changed tofu to some boxed version (no handmade anymore), the tofu now tastes very plain.
They gave us little portion conparing with neighbor tables. I doubt that they discriminate customers, and this is the second time we found we get less portion than surrounding Korean customers.
This place is a national treasure. Excellent food and service with a nice setting. The spicy pork is amazing and the soups come as spicy as your guts can take it. if you don't like spicy, don't even try to get your stew over medium. Very spicy feels like 3rd degree burns but totally worth it. 10/10

Super good Kimchi Ramen with Pork and Vegetable Dumplings! Everything is done perfectly - spice level, tempature, etc. Amazing little.resturant with kind hospitality that you'd expect from family.

Tiny, cute, comfy spot to get some comfort food. Their subdubu jigae or tofu stew is great, any variation. They are always kind and have quick service. I love stopping here, or getting meals to go.

The best tofu stew in town, hands down, Good service. The broth is very rich and flavorful on the kimchi tofu stew, and the bulgogi is also excellent.
A note on the spice levels: kimchi tofu house does not mess around. “Medium” is what would be considered spicy at many American restaurants, “spicy” is very spicy, “very spicy” is crazy, like you will cry spicy. I think some of the negative reviews can be attributed to people not knowing their limits when it comes to hot foods and then blaming the cooks for their overconfidence.
Everything at this hole in the wall is great and the portions are good. if I could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life, it would probably be Kimchi Tofu House.

Found this restaurant online and it had fairly good reviews so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did. The food was delicious! Hot and fresh. I ordered tteokbokki (mediun to spicy) and the silken tofu seafood stew. Loved it!! Husband ordered a lunch special which was bibimbap n pork dumpling stew. My daughter had beef ramen. Everything tasted great. The only negative for me is that it's tiny. Not much seating. It was full and crowded when we got there and it stayed that was the whole time. I sort of felt guilty to eat faster so that others would have to wait long.
Staff was courteous. Bottled water comes with the meal.
Overall it was a great experience!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Great food (love the Curry Tofu Stew), but small space. If you are looking to try the food either call in and order ahead for pick up to go or come during off hours (before or after lunch rush). Even better if you come when classes are not in session like in January, spring break, or the summer.

Waitress was kinda pushy and not very helpful. It was my first time going and while I recognized all the menu items I struggled to pick. I asked what she recommended but she just asked me well what are you feeling. Doesn't really help me decide. It's a typical deli style Korean restaurant. I was quickly seated at a small table with a bottled water. The food was hot and fresh and everything overall tasted great. I got the lunch special and it was a great deal. I almost couldn't finish it! Definitely recommend for U of M students and even if you're just in the area. Unfortunately, I got a bad stomachache later at night. I eat Korean food regularly since I'm half Korean so my stomach is definitely used to it. I loved the food but now with my stomach all queasy idk. When I compare my grandma's food to here, it's definitely on the sweeter side. I'm used to 돼지고기(spicy pork) being spicy but there's was not even spicy! I got the tofu soup in spicy and it was too spicy being it was the middle level, in my opinion. Definitely better Korean restaurants in MN.

Great Korean food in an area with a lot of choices. Ordered beef and chicken and the plate came out filled with mounds of meat! Kimchi was on point along with the other side dishes they bring out. Only for sections of side dishes they bring out but all were good. Tofu is good but be careful because it comes out so hot it cooks the raw egg they bring out with it. Seems to be a family owned business with superb hospitality. Cost to meal ratio was amazing. Defiantly collage kids budget. Tons of flavor and cooked just right. Chicken was thick cuts but really tender. Along with the beef, smaller cuts but very tender. Small place, maybe holds 30 people tops. $-$$
