Food is great, with personable service (from manager, during lul period).
Had a simple and good cocktail with the essence of jalapenos!
Their southern food is pretty good, considering it's NYC.
All in cost for a non-happy hour cocktail, gumbo soup and banana pudding was pretty reasonable for NYC standards!
Sugar Freak sounds like a dessert spot but, what's in a name as a guy named Shakespeare once said. It was brunch time for my bestie and I and what we search for whe we go to brunch, is a place serving a bottomless brunch, with delicious food and great music. Easier said than done. There are only a few bottomless brunch places in Queens, and Sugar Freak is one of them. What I liked about the menu right away was the choice of drinks. Not just mimosas ladies, but a choice of Sweet Honey Iced Tea (S.H.I.T) and sparkling Hurricane. Both yummy and both packed a punch! We would pay for that later (some of us not remembering much). Oh yes they serve food too. Sugar Freak is a creole style restaurant with dishes like shrimp and grits as well as chicken and waffles. My bff loved and wiped out her shrimp and grits. It was like a hug to her tummy and we needed that on this cold June morning. The chicken and waffles were also a hit. Crispy, yet juicy friend chicken on top of mini waffles, and a side of hash browns served in the cutest pot, I wanted to swipe. But i digress, the portions were perfect except for the delicious praline bacon. We ordered it to share and to our dissapointment, we only got two sad strips we almost fought for. The corn bread was a little stale for my taste, but once you dunk it in the grits it was all forgotten. Over all I would come back to Sugar Freak, next time for the main dinner menu. Oh and the restrooms, so cute, for an instance, you forgot you were in NYC.

Delicious food and good portions! Indoor and outdoor seating available. Attentive staff. Expected pricing. Good ambiance. The drinks were delicious (& actually strong!), too!

This place is a vibe, it is New Orleans themed and the food is amazing! If you never been to New Orleans you can have something sooooo close to home without the long travel. It was a bit busy on a Sunday around brunch time but we were able to get a seat (usually reservations are better) but we got lucky. They even do a cute 1 hour 30 min bottomless drink for brunch. The mac & cheese was amazing and the fried chicken was soooo juicy. The bread they have with the oysters so crunchy & buttery. There were so many great options I can’t wait to go back & try some more. They offer indoor and outdoor dining!

Sugar freak has a great southern-creole inspired menu. Brunch is delicious and they also have a Bottomless drink special. It is often busy which makes it hard for the waitstaff to keep up but they do their best. Expect a bit of a wait when you need something and when getting a brunch table but it's worth it.

I wanted to love this place
but the food was just ok . The decor is cute with a New Orleans style about it ....but unfortunately that's the best part. I'm willing to give it another try and hopefully by picking something different from the Menu I will change my opinion. Fingers crossed ????????

Last minute dinner with some friends who live in the area...I wasn't blown away or anything, but the place is a total vibe for sure. Very nice theme and decor. The cocktails were pretty good, specially the Zombie. And I ordered the chicken and waffles, which was okay...considering the neighborhood does offer other restaurants with better food. The food wasn't bad but could be better. Maybe I'll have to try it again soon.

So my friends recommended this place and I’ve been wanting to find another seafood boil bag place since my favorite in greenpoint Brooklyn closed down. I have to say that the food here is great! Yes the price is a little high but the food was good. Plus they don’t just have seafood boil bag, they have some other options. But I’ll be coming back here to enjoy more good food!

Nice atmosphere and scenery. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Feels like you're at your grandparents house and all of your family and friends are gathered together for a celebration. Rustic style decorations makes it even more comfortable. The food is cooked to perfection and served fresh and hot.

Started off good with the appetizers and the mains were a let down. Looks good but flavor was off. The fried chicken was unseason. It was only fried with some hot spice on top but the waffle was good. The jumbolaya was a bit too salty. And the po boy was okay. Crayfish mac n cheese was good and was tasty.
