the service was fantastic for the one guy bartending, waiting and serving- wings were on point, but I was pretty disappointed with the shrimp po boy. The shrimp were overcooked and inedible. My husband was pleased with his pork po boy. The long island iced teas were delicious as well????????.
Consistently good food, service, and atmosphere for many many years. Really fun live music. Outstanding drink and hot sauce selection. The Bayou is the absolute best of Mount Vernon/Fleetwood!

Great little hang for a beer. Fried wings are outstanding!! Really haven't had a bad dish yet. Bar has a bit of a divey vibe. They do have local bands playing sometimes as well.

Food was delicious and huge portions, the build your own man & cheese is to die for, dirty rice is super tasty and friendly staff

I ordered the Zydeco salad with shrimp and I got wilted lettuce and the salad looked scant. Bayou has lost a customer. This is sad because I used to get this salad it was full and the presentation was on point. I will encourage anyone looking for a good meal to NOT order from here. Won’t be eating here anymore

Don’t go here on Tuesdays!!! The bartender was very nasty at Bayou. When I walked in, I wasn’t even greeted, firstly. Secondly, when I asked about the happy hour features, she “reminded” me that it wasn’t quite happy hour time, when it was 2 minutes prior. I asked for the features, not the time. Then, a man walks in just after that and before he says a word, she asks if he wants a drink. I felt disrespected and dismissed. I come here often and this was my first bad experience here!!! Please watch who you hire people!!!

Customer service & food was awesome. Drinks were so good. Prices were extremely reasonable. The ambient truly gave you that Louisiana vibe ????

Ok this was supposed to be authentic creole cuisine. I was highly disappointed. I had jambalaya which was a wet soggy/soupy mess. It tasted like celery pudding with meat. I also had grilled Alligator bites that was a bit tasteless. For a cocktail I had what I thought would've been an authentic Bourbon Street Hurricane. If you know anything about what a Bourbon Street Hurricane is like, then you should know it's one of the strongest drinks next to the Grenade. The drink they gave me was no more than a watered down wine cooler, like wine mixed with water. I had such high hopes for this place. I've been to New Orleans many times and have eaten so many great tasting foods there to know that this just ain't it. Sorry, not sorry. If you know then you know.

They've done a really good job recreating a New Orleans experience despite our distance from Louisiana. Everyone was very friendly and the bartender whipped up one helluva hurricane.
I had the blackened chicken fajitas, smashed potatoes and cornbread for my entree. Everything tasted like it came from a Cajun Grandma's kitchen.
The house salad included a tasty mint vinaigrette dressing that shouldn't be missed.

First time at Bayou in 2 years and they are still outstanding. Great service and fresh Mud Bugs (crawfish) ! Forgot name of my favorite cocktail (spicy coconut something) but it tasted delicious and paired perfectly with my southern fried chicken and gravy. Whatever their salad dressing is, it taste like day one from 2007. The atmosphere is Nola proper. I have too many memories here to not return. Happy they haven't dropped the ball on food and service ! Really hope the live music returns soon. This place is a favorite.
