Where do you even start with a place like this...
I have listened to my parents talk about going to the Rockland Bakery when they were growing up for the last 30+ years. I was in White Plains for work and decided to take a quick little trip across the Tappan Zee Bridge. I was following the gps but let me tell you... no gps is needed once you get close. You can smell it from afar.
I was very much a deer in headlights when I walked in. I didn't even know what I was supposed to do first.
I took a few minutes to just walk around the storefront with all of the amazing looking and desserts, walked into the deli, and then into the bakery. A very kind woman working there could clearly see that I had no clue what I was doing. She gave me very clear instructions telling me to grab some food safe plastic gloves, a paper bag (or more) and have at it. Fresh breads of all kinds all around you. Bagels flowing right off of the line out of the ovens. It was like carb heaven in there.
Being that I was on a work trip, I tried to control myself a little bit. I ended up with bagels for my hotel room, I bought a few loaves of rye and challah to ship home, and of course had to get some black & whites to send home to my parents as well.
Wonderful place. I can imagine it can be hard to find a place to park or to even get in depending on the time of day. I was there probably around 2 pm and while I didn't have any issue parking or getting around in the bakery, it was definitely busy. But they keep everyone moving smoothly.
Next trip to White Plains, this is my first stop.
Highly recommend.
Stopped here for the first time - wow this place is fabulous! Everything fresh and hot and you can even select you own loaf. Check this place out for sandwiches, desserts, soft pretzels, breads and bagels.

I moved from Rockland County many years ago, but when I'm in the area always try to go there to get bread. It is a wonderful experience to wander thru the bakery and select from the huge amount produced every day. I am never disappointed! The bread - from the sandwich rolls to the loaves of rye, pumpernickel, etc., plus the bagels are always fresh and delicious. I have picked bread products hot off the racks. My children encourage me/ us to go whenever we can. This particular time the staff was extremely helpful pointing out the various products and the freshest of them. I wish I lived closer! If you have the chance - go!!!

Incredible! I dare you to walk in there and not come out with something! The smell draws you in to the back where the endless amount of freshly made assorted bagels are sliding down a shoot straight out of the oven! It’s like heaven on earth! The selection of bread is enormous! And they even slice it for you if you want.
They have everything you would want and it’s all fresh. Pastries, assorted Italian, and American cookies, assorted donuts, assorted large cookies, rolls, pies, buns, cakes, Everything is out of this world, and very affordable too. They sell to the public as well businesses, so they can keep their prices low because of the amount of business they do. I can’t say enough good things about this place! When you go into the bread bakery toward the back you put on a plastic glove you take a paper bag and you begin to fill that bag with as much yummy stuff you wanna buy!
We had visitors from South Carolina and we brought them there and they couldn’t believe their eyes! They’ve never seen nothing like it! If you have any out-of-town visitors, that’s a must see spot! Just abandon your diet at the door!!!!

Nice clean place. You smell the baked goods as you pull up. Good luck finding parking. Cheap good quality bagels. Pick your own freshly baked bagels off of the belt. Freshly made breads and they will also slice the breads for free! They also make fresh breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

The guy in the deli that always ruins my sandwich by messing up my order even after he repeats my order back to me. I usually get a simple roast beef on a roll with salt and pepper. Who told this man to put mayo on my sandwich? The guy is straight up rude as well. I finally found out his name is victor.
