Hot pot is always the best choice for winter time! Kimura nabe is definitely one of the most popular hot pot place in nyc.
A party of three ordered one Kurobuta Pork Belly Nabe with miso soup base, two-person original Collagen Nabe, and Teppan Gyoza (pan fried dumplings). The amount of food was really fulfilling. The soup of the Collagen Nabe tasted rich yet not greasy as there are so many spices added such as leek, chili, goji berries, garlic, burdock, etc. I’d call it quite “Asian fusion” soup! The service was good. This restaurant is usually busy, so it’s better to make a reservation in advance. Would love to revisit this place!
A decent spot for a hotpot without having to cook! The collagen hotpot is delicious, though the portion is quite small. We ate a late lunch and we went here for an early dinner, but we still felt only at 60% capacity after the meal. The appetizers are decent, but nothing really stood out, except for their representation. I would only go back for the hotpot.

This place is a gem in the East Village. On a summer afternoon, this place was still pretty busy so the food took a while to come, but the wait was so worth it because the food was incredible and the service was super accommodating. The hotpot we received was delicious, I definitely recommend the beef. And I am in love with the generous amount of chives. The chicken wings were super juicy and crispy, my favorite. The tofu was also soft and fresh, all the flavors blended together perfectly.

Japanese shabu-shabu place where you can taste their tasty menus. I personally thought the taste was a bit too salty, but I toned it down with the taste of the beer. Walk-in was impossible since the night was full of reservations but I don’t know if it’s changed nowadays. I personally love the small outside space if you go deeper in to the restaurant, where the interior makes you feel like you’re in Japan. Hope to visit this place again!

So delicious, loved the atmosphere back door in a private room. The ponzu sauce that came with the wagyu hot pot was so good and the broth too. Mango pudding was perfect consistency! I don’t usually like fish but the mackerel tasted amazing. Will be coming here again. Service was pretty good

I thought the food was not enough but it was, so we order 2 hotpot bowls and 2 orders of sushi. The service was exceptionally well, they treated us with care. The soup for the collagen hotpot was really good! Shabu Shabu one can use some work but with the waygu it was perfect. The sushi was amazing so we ordered it twice again, one of each. I would come back for the collagen hotpot.

I went Kimura on Sunday afternoon around 4:30, I didn’t have to wait for a table, but was told that the next reserved table will be coming in 1 hour and a half. The time for me is enough and I got my dishes fast.
The overall service is definitely wonderful. The chicken skin and beaf tongues are both tasty. I love the Hakata Motsu Nabe, it is $25/person and the soup is sooo yummy!

Overall it was good, but a little bit pricy in general and not that impressive. The portion was not that big except the hot pot.
The pork feet hot pot was good, the flavor was light and I’ll recommend to people who like healthy food.
???? My favorite dish goes to beef tongue. It was soft but chewy with great flavor.
Fried ramen and fried chicken were classic.
????Matcha tofu was definitely a must as the dessert.

Wonderful authentic place for Japanese hotpot. For vegetarians they have a 10 vegetable hot pot that I highly recommend. The pork belly nabe is also very yummy. I recommend getting a reservation because they can get very busy in the evenings and during lunch. However, if you come right at noon when they open you can still snag a table.

Without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants in the city! The atmosphere is very traditional Japanese and comfortable, the ingredients in the hotpot are deliciously prepared, and the service is great. I have absolutely nothing I would change about my experience, and the price is also very reasonable. I will undoubtedly continue to return in the future.
