Read a review on my neighborhood brief that this was the go-to spot for bagels, and like the foodie that I am; I gave the Bakery on Bergen a shot of my patronage.
I stopped by on 12/12, in the mid-afternoon. The ???? 's were not what I would write home about and that was okay with me.
What was not acceptable was the lackluster service that was administered.
The two women servers were dead-pan boring and not engaging pleasantly with the two customers waiting to be served.
I get it that times can be tough, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
Nonetheless, a little smile, and kindness can go a long way. Just as when they applied for employment, they hoped and prayed to be hired. That same level of hope and hype is helpful for sustainable development and growth.
Not to mention that like iced coffee, Bagels spots ???? are not scarce.
Like the song by the late, great Wilson Pickett "Try a Little Tenderness".

I found out about this gem of a bakery while watching NY1 earlier this year, Kim was being interviewed and I was so impressed. I live in Florida and a few days later I ordered several varieties of cookies and they were absolutely delicious. I'm ready to order some more for the holidays

I tried The Bakery On Bergen after seeing them featured on Humans of NY and it did not disappoint! The owner, Kim, and her entire team working were friendly and welcoming. The chocolate chip cookies and iced latte were fabulous! I look forward to coming back soon and trying their alcoholic cupcakes & other treats :)

Amazing cookies, excellent cakes (had a cake baked here 24hrs before it was needed and it was delicious), and super friendly and helpful counter servers! The owner of the shop, Kim, is almost always around, she’s super awesome and welcoming to her customers!
Definitely recommend checking this place out if you haven’t already!!

Went to the BAKERY on Bergen after reading about Akim's story on Instagram.
We ordered empanadas (which were warmed up for us in the air fryer, we were offered a side of sriracha with it which we gladly accepted), blueberry cupcake, cowgirl cookie, and the pink lemonade.
Everything was delicious, especially the empanadas and cookie. The empanadas were flaky and seasoned so well. The cookie hit the sweet/savory spot.
We're so excited to go back for more empanadas and to try out more of the sweets. Customer service was also amazing, we were offered samples of some of the cookies before we decided what to order.

Just had the best customer service experience, cookie AND cupcake of my life. The woman who owns this place is so kind, helpful, and really cares about her customers. I felt the love the moment I walked in. Also, holy cow!!! The baked goods are incredible!!!! I’m normally not a cupcake person but the banana cream with chocolate looked so tempting... just had to go for it and I’m extremely happy with my decision making.
If you’re in the area or need desserts for a birthday, baby shower, whatever, this is your spot!!!!!
