I am very happy this cuchifrito still open until this day back in the 90s the food was outstanding the chef was the best, don't get me wrong staff ok, fast service, food taste so so, need improvement (cleaning chicken station better, food taste old and over cooked, floor and counter full of tissue
The food was delicious, the price was great and the staff was so welcoming. I enjoyed every moment. One of my favorite cuchifritos in Brooklyn. Make sure you try their Passion Fruit Juice.

really clean restaurant with no frills just lets the food talk. the empanada was low key gross honestly it was mad oily and the meat was tasty but also absorbed the oil. but the fried yuca ball made up for it. perfectly crispy on the outside with nice seasoned beef in the middle. will def be returning in the morning for fresher stuff and im sure it'll all taste better

The blood pudding was oily, the Alcapurias had no flavor and they looked like they use old oil to fry them in. Empanadas we’re disgusting because the dough was more than the chicken. Wasn’t cooked right in the center and the oil is old that they use to fry them in. If I had paid with debit I would have got a charge back because how disappointed this place is. Back in the 90’s the food was 5 stars. Won’t be coming to this spot anymore and it’s a Dominican run place because that wasn’t Puerto Rican at all.

Didn't feel welcomed. Rice and beans had no flavor, alcapura was hard, all men in there. Had to keep asking questions over felt like they were annoyed. No fountain can or bottle drinks. Won't go back.

I'm from out of state and I had a hunkering for cuchifrito. I usually go to cuchifritos In Manhattan on 116th.. But I was working around Brooklyn all day and couldn't get away. So I decided to here. The young guy who waited on me was rude. Very slow and wasn't very social! No one was in the store except for 1 man almost finished eating at the counter. I should have known this place wasn't going to be any good! (lack of patrons).. Anyway I still went against my own judgment and ordered anyway. I got 2 cuchifritos to take home with alcapurias and chicharon and 2 pastelillos. Well I got in my work vehicle and figured I'd try the frituras and wat a disappointment! Alcapurias were hard and the pastelillos tasted like it had cornbeef in it! Disgusting. I drive out to the 1st rest stop out of New York and the food was still hot so I decided to eat. I asked the server to put the liquid separate. So I pour a bit in and start eating. The guineos were mushy and the rest of the stuff was over cooked and super soft except the moricilla, the rice inside was raw! Next time I'll just go to the best spot over in Manhattan when I'm in town! What a waste of money! Never again! Threw it out!
