Great and friendly customer service, fabulous, authentic food, lively music and atmosphere, good drinks. Will definitely be back!
One of the best Puerto Rican foods I have eaten in a while!!!. Julio the owner was so sweet and nice, the staff members were awsome and very pleasant. I was truly pleased with the service and the taste of the food. I am definitely considering going back to the restaurant again with my family!! Love it!!!

Had a great time today @ El Cantito restaurant. The food was delicious and owners of the establishment (I'm terrible with names) are kind and comforting. This will be our new go to spot when we want authentic Puerto Rican cuisine ????????

This is by far the best Puerto Rican food in all of New York I’ve had thus far. Do yourself a favor and forget about any other places. This is the most authentic and flavorful food I have had off the island in NY. For those who have never gone to the island this is what real Puerto Rican cuisine is all about. The portions are generous. The prices are reasonable. I’m so happy I found this place. I highly recommend!

SAFE Review
Service: was sub-par. The wait time was very long, nearly an hour before we were even served the appetizer. Yes, the place was very busy but this was a due to a planned party and they had not prepared for that. Other reviews also complain about a long wait, which gives me the feeling that it normally does take long time. The servers themselves were courteous and nice, though you could see that they were overwhelmed.
Ambience: is a small restaurant with a party vibe to it. The place was very crowded and very loud. This is a place where you can hangout with friends, have some drinks. The tables are really small.
Foo: was delicious and worth the wait. It was one of the most authentic Puerto Rican food I have had, second only to Sofrito perhaps. All items we ordered were delicious and do fresh. It tasted homemade. I would have given it 3 stars but the food made up for it.
Experience: The long wait time was a big disappointment, but the good was worth the wait. The music being played was so loud that we could not have a conversation. The music itself was very good. They had a live band, a talented group.

My friend and I were looking for a lemonade spot in Yonkers since we were in a nearby park. This establishment appeared in our google search and we headed to Cantito Cafe. Upon arrival we found parking, which is great and we’re greeted with a Puerto Rican and LGBTQ+ flag. We immediately thought this place must be open and accepting y bien Boricua.
We sat at the bar where we were greeted by the head Chef and the owner who were busy attending to orders and drinks.
The fresh lemonade prepared was amazing that I ended up ordering four. We decided to grab some appetizers before I departure and settled for the empanadas with beef, cheese and chicken. The chicken and cheese were my favorite. Very tasty.
The decor needs some work but it feels like a restaurant off the beat and path in Cabo Rojo.
The menu seems decent and they have a drag performance on Wednesday nights. We are looking forward to having a full meal at the establishment. Prices seem fair.
The five stars were awarded based on hospitality, attentiveness to details for our lemonades and the satisfying empanadas or should I say Pastelillos. ????
