Update***, went there again, i always try 3 different days at each place ,and i gota say it was better, i wish i could put 3.5 stars, not yet a tru 4, meat had better smoke on it and still very tender, mac n cheese was still realy bad, coleslaw was ok,pickles still bad, but it was better, maybe the day i went below was just a bad day.or the changed something about there smoke style.
Whether there the other day for the first time, had the brisket and pulled pork, both very tender, brisket had a nice little bark, but both had no real smoked flavor,I've had good amount of TX bbq, this really left no great impression, also the sides are just terrible, the Mac n cheese had zero flavor, more like a yellow soup, the pickles tasted like old water would taste, coleslaw was just ok. I can't really call this TX quality.i will say, they oiled on the brisket in the sandwich.
Really good BBQ. We got the ribs, burnt ends, hot links and brisket. All of them were moist, smoky good, classic BBQ. There are no tables inside, and the employees act like they can’t wait to go home, but that just adds to the charm. It’s classic LA. Eating good food, good value, eating ribs practically in the parking lot of the shell station next door. Locals place their order and then walk to the 7-11 and get a tall beer to enjoy with the food. Excellent value for the money.

Would give it a 3.5. Chicken breast had a nice smoked flavor and was seasoned well but was on the dry side. Mashed Potatoes were good. Corn bread was mid. Main problem though is 1 meat combo for about 4-5 ounces of chicken and one side being $17.50 was way too much. Still hungry.

Many people told me how good this place was so I decided to give it a try. I had my family over for my birthday and I got brisket and ribs and let's just say there was hardly any left! Everyone absolutely LOVED it! Will definitely come back and highly recommend!

I'm from Texas, and I approve of this BBQ. Usually I m disappointed by “Texas Style” BBQ but Swinging Door hits home for me. No gimmicks or frills.
My wife and I shared the 4 meat, 4 side combo and added a hot link so we could try little of everything. All the meat was juicy with the right amount of smoky flavor as not to over power the meat. The Mac and cheese, Coleslaw, and baked beans are all on point. The garlic rolls are fluffy and outstanding.

Had a great experience here in December. The food was amazing and we counted on our waiter for great recommendations. We squandered and made black truffle carpaccio and white truffle pasta and both were excellent. The atmosphere was very romantic and relaxed and every dish, this and the kitchen was fantastic. Great place for a special date night or romantic evening! Wine list +++!!

Coming from Texas this was the spot to go too. I had pork ribs and sirloin tips. Everything was tender and moist. The bbq sauce was perfect as well.

One of the best and most authentic Texas BBQ joints in the San Fernando Valley. Highly recommend the brisket that is so buttery. The tri-tip is very juicy and flavorful. The pork ribs is so tender and falls off the bone. I normally don't put to much BBQ sauce on my meats but slathering their spicy sauce is a must. Tip: the online menu is not updated. If you're picking up, make sure to call them since they have more great menu options available.
