This was my first time at Bistro on the Mall and I was very satisfied with their delicious food, drinks and superb hospitality! Eric will make you feel just like family!
I loved dining outdoors. Very quiet and relaxing. We had the Salmon Rasta Pasta, Surf n Turf with Fried Lobster Tail, Salmon eggrolls and Carrot cake for dessert....beyond delicious ????
I went to support for Black Restaurant Week, but I always support Black businesses and I will definitely come back here often and enjoy.
Edit: Went back again for Mother's Day and as always enjoyed the food!
Stopped in for an early weekday brunch and was welcomed and sat by the friendly owner. Plenty of seating options both inside and outside and the menu was impressive with nice brunch and lunch selections. The food was very good my kids had a burger their mom had a crab cake sandwich and I had a black bean burger. Everything was delicious the only thing I would say is the portions are small.... Need to cut away bread to make it feel like a real sandwich... The prices were reasonable so intrigued enough to come back to try a few more things on the menu.

If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here! The food is AMAZING!
We tried the shrimp and grits, and the salmon cheesesteak and both were delicious. You can tell they put their heart and soul into every dish they cook!

We had the mushroom burgers and they were very tasty. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu. The owner was very personable and its a black owned establishment.

Wow!!!! A true hidden gem in every sense of the word. The menu is fantastic for brunch, it was BYOB with no hidden fees and they brought wine buckets and ice outside for us. The prices are great, the service was great, the street is quiet, and the food is top notch. Can’t wait to return.

I had been planning to visit Bistro on the Mall for a while, but never found the time until today. I'm glad I visited and will definitely return. I dined inside, and found the dining room to be comfortable, quiet, and inviting.
There are two of us dining and we ordered an order of chicken and waffles and the strawberry cheesecake French toast. Both dishes were well seasoned and delicious! In fact, I hate to admit it but I do tend to add salt to almost every dish I order in a restaurant. However, I did not need any additional seasonings on my chicken and waffles. They were seasoned perfectly.
Eric also made us feel right at home. He came out and talked to us and got to know a little about us and we learned a little about him. It was just a real friendly atmosphere that is missing in so many other restaurants and businesses in the city. I look forward to returning with more family and friends.

I had been Curious about this spot for a long time now. I ride by regularly on my way home from work. I was told it was black owned and I wanted to support them because of that. So this evening I actually stopped in, and just made it, as the young lady quickly volunteered as I searched for my selections. After looking over the menu, I went with the Salmon Steak platter, I ordered three of them. I got home, tired and hungry and ready for something tasty. The Salmon steak was seasoned to perfection. Why the 3 stars? Well, although the taste didn’t disappoint, the skimpiness of my sandwich did. Out of the 3 steaks I ordered, only one was actually as expected, filled and overflowing with meat. The other two were very skimpy hardly enough on the whole sandwich to fill one half, I winded up cutting each half in half to make it feel like a full steak sandwich- the bread was way more than needed for the small amount of meat. Paying close to $50.00 for 3 steak platters With just fries, I would have thought that they each would have been filled nicely. — I will check this place out again- please do check this place out-they are always busy, so they are doing a few things right- perhaps an off night excited about closing?!? Just be sure when you do support this Black owned business, that your salmon steak is a full steak and not a half- a friendly note: I’d love to experience a little more customer service from the front staff. For my first time there they weren’t as welcoming as businesses usually are. Lastly, I really appreciate when restaurants have their kitchen staff with hair coverings, or hair pulled tightly. Stray random hair strands in food have a way of reversing an appetite. All in all, a fair experience, the steak was favored by all. Good luck to this place! I will be back again- next time with my measuring cup. JK

1st of all, the food is amazing!!! The ambiance inside is cozy and welcoming, staff is friendly and there is this phenomenal artwork on the walls where the take-out window is. I have absolutely no complaints. So if you want an amazing experience and some delicious food, do this. Don't cheat yourself, treat yourself!! I am going back very soon!! Bone apple teeth. ????????UPDATE: So I came back and had the fish and grits(I wanted to get everything honestly). Again, they did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly seasoned and the grits were creamy and flavorful, as to be expected. So much so that I didn't have to ask for salt or pepper. I ate as much as I could and almost ate it all except for a few bites. I dined in this time and it was a soothing, relaxing experience. I also ordered "The Bistro" which is their mango and pineapple lemonade. I have no words to describe how refreshing and delicious that was. My picture only shows my meal after I had already started eating(sorry not sorry). But seriously, if you want a pleasant eating experience, you really should try them out. I am not affiliated in any way with them besides being a satisfied customer.
