By the time I was able to find a parking spot, I had an attitude. Ugh good luck finding parking. There’s a parking lot up the street but I believe it’s for the school and didn’t want to take a chance and have PPA tow my car. Lucked up and found a spot right where contractors were working on a building.
We were greeted as soon as we entered and offered to sit outside or in. We chose to sit inside, it was a bit chilly for me but not too bad.
This is a cool hip spot and the decor is creative and young. Ordered the coffee over ice cream (affagoto ?) and a hot chocolate w/whip cream. The whipped cream seems like it was homemade.
My French toast came w/strawberries, bananas and berries (got mine w/o), side of whip cream. Also got a side of bacon and potatoes. I asked for onions and peppers with the potatoes and was informed it would come with red peppers and onions, so I decided just the onions. I was thinking that they would be cooked with the onions, not just on top.
The traditional breakfast I’m told was not all that good and mainly because the scrambled eggs were runny, potatoes were a bit over seasoned, not with salt but more with herbs and things. Toast and bacon were fine.
I read that they have breakfast daily and the price wasn’t bad.
Service was great.
Stumbled onto this philly gem by mistake. Service was excellent. The French toast is amazing. Also had eggs and turkey bacon. I was stuffed. Didn't have to eat for the rest of the day.
Now I came on the weekend so it was very busy. Would suggest getting there early rather than later.
Parking is hard to find because you're close to downtown.
I looked at the other dishes being brought out and everything looks delicious. I'm coming back for sure.

Cafe Lift is a quality choice for brunch just outside of the center city area. Unfortunately, they don’t take reservations so it is a bit of a gamble on a weekend. They have inside and outdoor covered seating inside a hollowed-out cargo container. We had to wait over an hour to get seated but the food was really good.
I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of eggs. My girlfriend got the french toast, which she loved, with a side of eggs as well. We split a side of bacon. The pancakes were good; not only were blueberries baked into the pancakes but they sprinkled several on top. The eggs were scrambled to near perfection. Very light and creamy. The bacon left a bit to be desired and the price for the cranberry juice felt a bit steep. Honestly would have preferred less liquid to a $5.25 drink.
Overall though, planning ahead and the taste of the food elevates Cafe Lift into the rotation of great brunch around Philly.

Enjoyed our breakfast here. Arrived around 11am on a Thursday and it didn’t start to get busy until we left which was around 12:30pm. I had the eggs Benedict with iced coffee and my boyfriend had the breakfast burrito with orange juice. Both were very delicious. The pancake was also very yummy but it’s a bummer that it’s only 1 for 8$ and a stack of 3 is 15$ lol and to us the pork rolls weren’t that good. Our waiter was okay, not super attentive but kind. The ambiance is nice as well. Our total came out to 65$ with tip. (Tip is not included with your bill. We tipped 20%)

Absolutely recommended! The vibe, the waiters, the cleanliness, the presentation of food, flavor, everything was on point! All food was presented well, and tasty. We order the breakfast burrito, which is very filling. The mushroom Benedict was fresh and absolutely a great summer dish, especially with the peas in there. Gorgeous! The crepes was the happiest ending. Very generous with the Nutella and had some bananas too! I’d definitely be coming back again to try other dishes. Thank you for a great experience.

Location is in the cut which makes this cafe spot really unique. Street Parking is a little hard to find with construction being done in the area.
The food was very delicious! I had the Eggs Steak sandwich which was really different with the pretzel bun.
Overall this spot serves great brunch/lunch and even breakfast food.

I've been going to Lift since it opened. If you have a favorite dish that you order automatically when you see it, for me, it's French Toast. And Lift is easily the best in Philly ... Maybe the East Coast.
Although I do miss the regular attendance of the owners, I was happy to see that it's still cranking out the best brunch in the area. Yes, I've been to Honeys and all the normal touted favorites. Lift crushes everything in Philly with the possible exception of Bud and Marilyn's.
It's usually my single first choice for brunch. You will not be disappointed.

Delicious food, friendly staff, quick service and a cool vibe. Ordered Huevos Rancheros and it was delicious. My guest had the breakfast burrito. Just enough food. Definitely not light on the portions, but not too big that you waste food. The food was excellent and the sauce that comes with it is spicy and delicious! Clean restaurant and reasonably priced. Inside outside seating. Looks like a little hole in the wall place at first, but was a lot bigger inside than expected. All the food looked delicious. Came out hot and fast! Would come back again if I’m ever in Philadelphia.

We have a plan to try the breakfast all Philly, this is our first time here. The service is good and the environment looks great. We asked him to recommend three foods. We loved it and worth going back.

This was my first visit and I can't wait to dine at Cafe Lift again. The staff was friendly and attentive and my meal came quickly. Even though the temperature outside hovered around 35 degrees, every table was full and folks were standing outside waiting to be seated. That alone is a testament to the quality of food and level of service at this cafe. The prices are affordable, and the portion size is filling.
