The food at La Viola Bistro is just okay. It's nothing to write home about, but it gets the job done. The servers, however, are not very personable or friendly. They seem to be doing their best to avoid eye contact with you, which I get—it's a tough job! But if they could just look up from their phones and smile at the customers every once in a while, it would make a big difference.

The appetizers and desserts were pretty good though!

I had a reservation for 8 people as a birthday party. I rated the restaurant 2 stars because they are charging $3 per slide if you bring your own cake. This does not make no sense to me. And I canceled the reservation. The person who created that rules just lost a business.

It's cash only. They don't tell you that anywhere in the place and they don't tell you until after you get your bill. And honestly that's not even the biggest issue. The biggest issue is that the food is not good. The pasta was way too salty, the bread was dry and cold, the salad had a bizarre ratio. Way too many peppers and barely any lettuce at all. The olive oil for the bread was like lime green. Not the olive green you expect. Very weird.

Had a very disappointing experience today. The restaurant took a deposit to make a reservation and did not apply the deposit towards the payment, as some people in the party felt sick and did not make it to dinner. I was not explained that ahead of time, other wise I would have never made a reservation at this restaurant with all the other great restaurants in the city. The gratuity was included in the bill and could not be adjusted, although the service was very very poor. My daughter was told she could not order a salad for dinner, she was told she had to order the actual meal, as salad is considered an appetizer and not a meal. The other party in the same dining room was smoking, and when we brought it to the restaurant’s staff attention, they said no one is smoking, only way later going to that table and telling those people to stop smoking.
When we asked for a manager, manager never came, when we asked for the owner’s name, we were told we were not allowed to have it.
I would never return or recommend this restaurant to anyone, it is sad that in the middle of such a beautiful city there are still places that treat customers in the most disrespectful manner and are not being held accountable.

Food was delicious. They graciously accommodated our request to dine outside even though we were the first to do so that evening. They were attentive throughout our time there. Did not provide enough of their spiced olive oil for the bread, though provided more when asked.

A quaint Italian neighborhood restaurant, although be forewarned it's BYOB and cash only.

The staff was quite friendly and attentive, even a bit bantery, and the food was well-made, very rustic and traditional.

It's a wonderful bistro for the occasional brunch or dinner!

Food was great however staff was clearly overwhelmed. Not the best Italian food around but, overall, still pretty good.

Went for a quick lunch during restaurant week. The food was fantastic and the staff was so kind, but it’s important to note that they’re cash only!

The food was okay - I didn't think that the romaine in the Caesar salad was that fresh. The mussels weren't that fresh either. The entrees though were very delicious. We sat in the corner of the restaurant and the tables were very close together, which I didn't like, and we were right back by the entrance of the kitchen. The servers also weren't very personable and friendly. But, I will say the entrees were amazing (we went for restaurant week), but other than that the appetizers, desserts and such were okay. The homemade tiramisu wasn't the best I've had.

This place left me speechless. They are BOYB and cash only. Service was excellent! The food was absolutely amazing. If you find yourself in the area, definitely check them out. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried that day.
