The shrimp were very good...but the chips are always soft....never crisp...I guess it is the heat from the shrimp..maybe a few fries instead of chips would work better.
After all these years. Still the best shrimp and French fries this side of the country. And make sure you get extra ketchup.

Tossed with salt and pepper ???? glad I tried this place cause been going back for awhile now. I really like the macaroni salad to *edit" thanks for taking time to reply. Funny last time I was there macaroni salad tasted little dif and wasn't as crazy about it. Assuming was an off day and they over cooked the noodles or something tho cause normally always good. Also I see people in other reviews talking about the chips, I have never ate them and always assumed they were just there to soak up any grease and make the shrimp better, which works well. I didn't think they were supposed to be part of the meal ???? maybe I'm wrong but it didn't seem like it lol. Also def not tiny shrimp. A dozen is always like 2 meals for me ???? also would love if they had some kinda drinks like just cans of soda or something

Haven't been in over 30 yrs, but was passing by and stopped last week. Still delicious, perfectly cooked fried shrimp. Give thanks, and Bless up urselves Sid Booker staff!!!
And in response to the previous reviewer.....the shrimp were butterflied, and they were huge!! I ordered a dozen....ate them all... but really too much for one person.

Been in Nicetown for 33 years & finally tried this place. I bought a dozen of shrimps. One shrimp makes up for 2, so half a dozen maybe better. They were seasoned very good, fried perfectly & delicious!

SidBookers is just there, a staple and open. These shrimp are O.K and the potato chips taste like they bought a lifetime supply when the place opened and have not bothered to invest in any new ones since. The cole slaw tastes like someone said " they won't notice if we don't add the salt". This place has gone down hill. As much money as this place makes they should be ashamed of that pink coat of paint that has been there since it opened.

I had the fried shrimp. They were good just not enough. They were only taking orders at the pickup window and it's cash ONLY. After circling the block looking for parking, I only had a few cash dollars on me.

I think Philadelphians have different taste bud from the rest of the world. The food here was awful. Shrimp were too tiny for the price and tasted as if they were cooked in old oil and over cooked to boot. Not sure what the big buzz is about this place. Perhaps the owner/owners are well known. They seem to rate based on popularity here instead great quality. I definitely won’t be back.
