Was craving fish and chips and after a short google search found The Black Sheep was a short walk away. It's a nice pub highlighted by some very friendly bartenders. In addition to the fish and chips we also got the Black Sheep Burger with smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and bacon.
Both were cooked with love and tasted great, as evidenced by us scarfing them down before remembering to take a picture. The bacon on the burger was thick cut and the fish was fried to perfection. We washed it down with Downeast Lemonade. Will definitely stop back in for another drink and bite!
The crew’s favorite go-to ❤️ John, Kiara, Ian & the whole team are awesome, flexible, and friendly. While we do want our chipotle mayo fries dip back, we love it here and complain about everywhere else. You guys are the best!

I hosted an after party on the second floor of The Black Sheep and it was an incredible event. James was very friendly and easy to work with. His bartending team was also very good, especially since we really packed the second floor with 70-ish people. It was such a good event that we ended up being the last people there as they closed the restaurant. A+ 10/10 afterparty.

This is the saddest order of tater tots I’ve ever seen in my life. Service was not great. There are much better places in this area to spend your money.

Great food! we ordered the Cubano sandwich and it’s very good! The staff is very nice and friendly. Great experience! will definitely come here again. The ketchup in the picture was my mistake! I poured too much in my plate ????

Went here on a weekday. Packed with people. Very cosy. Good selection of draft (craft)beers and delicious food. Had the bangers and mash. Very tasty. Friendly staff.

I ordered the Shepherds pie (which in Ireland would be called Cottage pie since it's made with beef vise mutton). It was good but incredibly small for $14. More like what most places would call a side. The dish was very shallow. Maybe this is just because Philadelphia is expensive compared to Raleigh, Atlanta, Memphis, etc... but there, this size portion would be a side and for $14 it would be 2-3 times this size. Beer was fine. I had to go to the bar and get my server's attention any time I wanted to order anything since she was on her phone... sign of the times I guess.

Funny Story, but serious
Very unprofessional and not welcoming whatsoever. After the Broad Street 10 miles run a few of my friends and I went here to celebrate. After 5 minutes the manager kicked us out for absolutely NO REASON! I literally, mistakenly asked for "Fishdog" and its actually called "DogFish" and the manager kicks me out saying I was "Too Drunk"! I reacted with "Bro I literally just ran 10 miles, I AM EXHAUSTED" had my medal on and everything.
I was very calm and collected talking to these people, and they still had no proof that we were disruptive or "too drunk".
Poor establishment with poor customer service. I made it an appoint to tell all my friends not to come here. If you also had a similar experience, please contact me!

The bulletin board says happy hour 4-7. Went to the bar to order and the female bartender was very condescending and rude. We asked if there was a happy hour menu and she said no, when we mentioned there was disparate information outside she said “that’s nice.” Don’t need to waste my money at a place where the servers patronize customers.
