Right on the corner in a pretty touristy area but didn't have to wait too long. Prices are as expected in the area. You can sit outside if you want to enjoy the nice weather and everyone walking around and they still make sure to check in on you. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I had the Hungry's burger, which you can get lettuce wrapped instead of with a bun, and it was more than enough! Very tasty burger. My wife had the BLT and an Old Town iced tea to drink, and then had another ;-) For a very touristy part of town this is a great choice. The other places nearby are mostly Mexican food so this adds a nice variety. Check it out if you're in the area!

So usually when I get a BLT they tend to be dry, but this was the best, juiciest BLT I’ve ever had in my life. It was delicious! I also fmgot the pesto mac n cheese and WOW????it was so creamy.

I'M a military veteran ! I was referred to hundgy's by a regular customer . I went there looking for potential employment as a cook. I was interviewed for employment by Jonathan the owner , He was rude, disrespectful ,and racist . He couldn't even shake my hand. He kept looking around the whole time and started to say rude remarks to me . I had to just get up and leave. I would never go there ever again in my life .... sad I had to go through this . it was hungry's kitchen and tap . I've done 10years in the military and integrity is something that I pride myself on. I have no reason to lie . It was HUNGRY'S KITCHEN AND TAP. 2547 SAN DIEGO AVE 92110. I've added a picture of the inside of were I sat.I know I was there and why I was there . As do you . We both know I did not apply through indeed. I was personally referred to hungry's due in part to my being a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu , and 7 years fine dinning head chef experience .
And you wounder why you can't stay operating in the black , or stay open consistently during your posted business hours . You may want to consider self evaluate and reflect on your dispososition and public perception.

Table service was ok...

The food not so much. I don't like to post negative reviews and they are rare for me relative to the positive ones.

Fish tacos resembled Gordons frozen filet not self hand battered and cut. Not a wow more a meh. Sorry but we have high expectations for restaurant fish tacos. Wasn't the worst maybe slightly below average in comparison so forgettable.

The eggs I didn't order seasoned and they were served with heavy ground pepper. Kudos though the fringes were not singed, I didn't want pepper at all that day I was intending a light blander breakfast due to some dietary needs. I don't recollect any restaurant having peppered my eggs.

You can always add more not take off what's already seasoned, is that not the candidate employee meal pre-seasoning food pre-taste thoughtfulness test? Fail.

The wheat toast very thick cut and whole grain texture. The orange juice a tad bitter and watery. If it were spoiled/sour I would have sent it back but at the time shrugged it off to maybe valencia tart. Unfortunately a restaurant visited a day prior had fresh squeezed oj. Opposite end of the spectrum.

A lot of missed targets here. Sorry but not everyone earns a four or five star rating. Law of averages might work in your long term ratings favor, though. We might have not had your best shot.

We visited Old Town and discovered this wonderful restaurant. We had the best breakfast there. Pancakes, eggs, bacon and wonderful house potatoes seasoned with dill and other herbs. Everything made from scratch and so tasty. We also listened to a very talented man playing piano. Our waiter was friendly and fun. A great dining experience.

Stopped for brunch at the tail end of a walking tour of Old Town. As awesome as pretty much all the Old Town Mexican places are, we wanted a change.. and Hungary’s didn’t disappoint. They have a variety of egg based brunch entrees, toast and bowl backed. My bowl was awesome, and my wife’s avocado toast with poached eggs were maybe the best poached eggs ever.

Thus place has amazing "scrambowls". Perfect size and they taste great. But OMG...if you have a chance to come on the weekend, you must try their unique version of "biscuits" and gravy. The gravy is worth it alone but here's the twist...instead of a biscuit, they serve it w a Scone. Oh man, the sweet an salty combo is to die for...so delicious! This will be my go to place at least once a trip, whenever we come down for the weekend.
