I was shocked at the amount of food you get with basically any dish here at Cactus Cove. The portions are absolutely massive at a very affordable price, it is likely that you will have leftovers that you can eat later or that you’ll be stuffed to the brim with only one dish! The food was delicious as well. It wasn’t packed and made for a very decent dining experience. It was relaxing, yet enjoyable. I hope to return again!
Update: We have been here 50 or so times by now. The service is good. The food is mostly good. Most of the bartenders are fun. The beer variety is good.
The hash for brunch is unique is different and worth a try.
Shelby is our favorite bar tender. Great attitude and personality.
I say good ... it is a laid back place that is good. Only issue is how things are odered; everything has to be ordered at the bar and the bar can get busy. They need to rethink the order /serving process. We keep coming back regardless.
Update: Been here four times now in one month. Weekend Brunch, Lunch, Dinner. I really like this place. Food is really good for the price. All the people are nice. Bar staff is friendly. I live in Jersey Village and I still keep wanting to come back and try something else.
Old Review: Pleasant surprise after visiting Dak & Bop earlier in the week.
Friendly Bartender. Real menu. 25 (20 craft) beers on draught with tap handles with the names on them.
Seriously though. Good food. Good beer. Nice Ambiance.
Will come back.
Had the chicken tenders, curry chicken, and aolote fries. All better than typical bar food; all fresh ... Good sit-down restaurant quality

It was great. The variety and unique but tasty menu items we tried were delicious. Go inside, grab a menu by the register at the bar, place order and pay at the bar, take number and find a table. They will bring the food out. Portions are large.

Unfortunately it was a disappointment Saturday. just wanted to have some drinks and appetizers before heading to midtown.
Order wings and Grilled chicken salad, wings were pink and under cooked wich is dangerous and salad was stale . Of course I said something. Was told it was to late she she had closed my tab. We visited Cactus Cove Bar & Grill several times before but this time it was a let down. $70 bad experience.

Awesome find. Looked like it was going to be bar food. But, chicken fried steak, artisan burgers, nice salads, it was all good. As for a bar, good assortment of beer.
Surprising quiet for a Saturday. TV's everywhere with an assortment of sports.
Would definitely go back when I'm in the neighborhood.

This place is an awesome place to chill and is truly a diamond in the rough. From the leather chairs to watch games on their tv’s to the awesome and big, dog friendly patio. Their drinks aren’t too expensive, but mixed well. They have super cool large booths for groups and really cool decor across the whole place. And to end it all their food is absolutely top notch as the most surprising welcome feature of this place. Will continue to go there!

My wife and I gave Cactus Cove 3 chances going back from before the pandemic up until now. For the price the food was just never good enough to stand up against all the other great options in the area (Hughie's, Dak and Bop, Crawfish Cafe to name a few). Our last attempt was a call in to-go order for lunch. We were charged an extra 8% to-go order fee and the fries came out so sad and wet and limpy. I'm sure this isn't what they were supposed to be because I've seen better ones in other people's pictures, but it has just always been something each time.

Came here for lunch! We ordered the Texas Frito Chili Pie and the Philly cheesecake. The food was tasty and tasted fresh. Our beers were cold. Our food came quickly and the server was very kind and quick to help us. They have a ton of beer options (including some local craft favorites!) There's plenty of parking and the patio is nice! We will definitely be coming back.

This dinner was probably the best food I’ve ever had at a “fancy” restaurant. Not that other restaurants aren’t also amazing, but every single bite was so amazing. The service was excellent and the wait staff was very knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 would eat there again (if there wasn’t a million other great places to try)!

Cactus Cove is a perfect little oasis away from the world. It’s currently Sunday and their brunch is fantastic. An entire menu of upscale Americana and Tex-Mex creations. All their cocktails are swanky and made fresh. Sit at the stainless steal bar or enjoy a picnic table outside.
