Vibe- Neat coffee shop in Montrose with the art league houston inside the building. There’s plenty of seating outside and inside making this a dope spot to study, work, or just catch up with friends over some coffee and bites to eat by Shakkar , a local croissanterie.
Customer service- Great! The gentleman that helped me was kind and helpful with me making my choice for a drink.
Food/drinks- I got a hot matcha latte with oat milk.
Parking- There’s plenty of spots in the lot to park.
Excellent place for my cycling rest stop; great coffee, service, breakfast tacos, very clean

I'm SO SAD for what has happened here. Yet another privileged owner blaming their own financial failings on amazing staff and the culture they created, while the workers bear the brunt of the consequences. This place WAS an amazing 5-star collection of good coffee and great people who genuinely enjoyed what they did, and now it is dissolving in another classist battle between the exploiters and the exploited. When will the luxury class learn that everyone deserves dignity and respect??

Love these guys, great owners, great vibes in the coffee shop, the location is where inversion was and I love that there is plenty of parking. That is tough to find in Montrose. The pastry program is great too.

Honestly was a little scared to spend some money here after I saw the reviews. However, I had a great experience at the newly branded coffee shop. Last time I was here (maybe 2 years ago), it was still Inversion. The building is still set up mostly the same. The large table at the entrance was taken out and a few smaller tables replaced it.
I think the coffee shop is a 4/5 for me but with the building including the Art League Houston, this place is definitely a 5/5 star location. The art exhibits are beautiful and a perfect study break during my long mornings learning about boring differences in lab values. Art is so much cooler!
Overall, I like the setup: a long high table with lots of outlets overlooking the busy Montrose street, several small high tables on the opposite side of the room to work alone, and at least 5 smaller tables to work alone. As a place to work or study, this place is perfect. All tables seem to be close enough to an outlet. Also, the two times I've been here recently, it wasn't too busy and easy to find a seat. There's seating outside as well if that's your preference. Wifi is strong and reliable. Workers are nice and wear masks. Only complaint is that the floors could use some work (maybe even just a fresh coat of paint?) but all in all a fun, reliable study spot. Will definitely come back!

Came by few months ago when we visited Houston. Other than the cool look I don't think there is anything else to bring us back here. The predecessor, Inversion coffee, had great customer service and amazing coffee/espresso drinks. A change in ownership or management may do the trick to prolong this business' survival, otherwise I don't think Canary Montrose will last much longer.

This was our first and last time at this place. We tried an expresso and a cold brew coffees. The expresso was horrible as in acid/sour and the cold brew not impressive. Either the filter is dirty or they are using bad quality coffee grain.
The place and music are pleasant. If management sees my comment consider investing in good materials before clientele depletes.
