Had dinner with friends a year ago, it was a great experience. Enjoyed the desserts. The interiors are upscale and atmosphere is lively. None of the dishes we ate had a lasting impact so can’t add too many details, but they did have a few modifications for vegan/vegetarians.
We had a lovely meal. We decided to do all 3 restaurant week menus. We also ordered a few regular menu items. Such a good atmosphere and a fun tasting. The fish was fresh and lovely So much flavor! We will go back. This is a great special dinner place with so much character

One star is given for the service, nice ambient and live band. The server is nice and friendly, always checking with us if we need anything.
We wanted to try because we saw lots of good reviews on food and especially on the oysters. We were disappointed because they did not serve fresh oyster on the day we came as we were told that the past Friday was national oyster day and they ran out of oyster because of that. For the small selection of buffet, it is definitely not worth the price. The only food that is nice is the lobster soup, though i wish it can be a little more hot. I definitely eat less than what I normally eat as i didn't really enjoy the food.
The other star is for the dessert table, not alot selection but each of it is yummy.
Before we left the manager check on us and offer us a plate of baked oyster which was the best thing i ate in the entire meal.

Yikes!!!!!!! The Caracol was so good….it’s scary…. Everything is authentic and made in house, which explains the quality of the food.
The service was also great and I can appreciate the menu being in Spanish with English underneath…. Helps with those of us that are still in training!
The ultimate part was the finale….the dessert…churros, ice cream and hot chocolate which was also all homemade. I have NEVER encountered something so good. I would typically never have hot chocolate and dessert but they complimented each other. The chocolate had no sugar but the churros made up for it!
Wow is all I can say! If you love authentic Mexican food…. This is your next stop!

We had a great dinning experience at Caracol as we celebrated a family birthday. ????
Since there is valet parking it made it convenient since the parking is not too close.
We a were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant and we were seated promptly since we have had a reservation.
The food was very good and the service we received from our server Mr Josue S. was exceptionally satisfying.
My kids are asking when we can come back and I highly recommend Caracol especially for special occasions to create a memorable memories with your family.

Great ambiance, service and drinks.
Unfortunately the food warrants a 3 star review. We ordered the ceviche which I would rate a 3 star, the pozole a 2 star and the shrimp plate a 2 star. There wasn’t much taste to these dishes though they come out looking very pretty/ upscale. I see many recent reviews agree the food is not as good as you would expect for the location, ambiance and price. If we come back it’ll be for the drinks and not so much the food.

Always enjoy the oysters... great spot as there's not much traffic by the building. Nice outdoor area & private dining rooms. Food & service is always great.

Wonderful time! The food was delicious and we had fantastic service for my husband's birthday. Our waitress made great recommendations on food and "the coconut" dessert was so good!

I had been dying to try this place for years and figured celebrating our Anniversary would be a good excuse. It was all just OK. Nothing was bad but I also wasn’t blown away by anything considering the upscale aspect of this place. Think Pacific Coast Tacos but with octopus and 3x the price.
Decor/ambience: It was nice but I felt like I was eating in a 90s contemporary hotel lobby that needed updating. The patio looked great though, but unfortunately it was too cold to sit outside.
Service: just OK. Our waiter was nice but not overly friendly and there if we needed anything (it didn’t seem too busy for a Friday night). If there were specials, we didn’t hear about them. No recommendations were offered. If I’m paying over $200 for a meal, I want to feel very welcome and taken care of. If youve been to State of Grace or Uchi (back in the day), that’s good service.
Food: again just OK…beautifully plated though. There was still a little time in the HH so we ordered the Palomas, the taquitos, and the oysters (with the butter). The HH drinks were watered down and not strong. There was nothing special about the taquitos. My husband liked the oysters.
I then ordered the spicy Margarita (not HH) and it was great! Based on reviews, I had to try the lobster taco. I was underwhelmed. It’s lobster so of course it’s good but pretty bland. The coconut snapper ceviche was bland as well. My husband had the scallops which were good…the most flavored dish. I had the duck. It was chewy and not a lot of flavor in the mole. We ordered dessert which came with “Happy Anniversary “ written on it. I appreciate that. The coconut dessert was delicious and unique.
As much as I wanted to love it, it didn’t blow my mind.

Caracol birthday brunch was amazing! (Sunday brunch kicks off again at Htown Restaurant Group places tomorrow - according to their email.)
Please, please, PLEASE order the cafe de olla. No cream or sugar necessary. It is perfection. Small conchas were a great start for the table. The oysters are perfect and most everything was very great.
My only concern was we had an allergy at the table and alerted the waiter to the avocado/cucumber allergy. The arrachera con huevo came topped with avocado and we sent it back. In a matter of minutes the dish came out again and it looked like the same plated food with the avocado removed. I didn't get a pic and did not try it.
Everything else was impeccably prepared and worth savoring. Our waiter made great suggestions and was attentive. I will always, ALWAYS order the Churros and hot chocolate for dessert at Caracol. Always. ❤

This is one of Houston 's upscale Mexican restaurants.
The settings is very chic, having a beautiful bar.
The food is actually very good.
Service is very friendly, but as it gets busy, then it's hard to get their attention.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend. Sadly, it was a disappointment. While the bar is large and beautiful, the vodka selection is pitiful. I can’t believe they don’t have Tito’s here. The food was beautifully plated but all served at room temperature. Another knock. The staff was nice and the bathrooms were clean. It was fun to try new foods but we won’t be coming back or suggesting it to anyone we know. :(
