The location is on the corner. They charge to park. There is not any free parking. Cost $6. There is a valet he was not there to park or car. The food is not traditional tex-mex food. Drinks are good and my Gladius were big and flavorful. It was different
I’ve been coming to Cuchara on at least a monthly basis since it reopened after all the COVID closures. Every experience I’ve had with the staff has been pleasant. They make you feel like family.
My top three go-to dishes are the chilaquiles rojos, pozole rojo, and encacahuatadas. When I’m feeling really hungry and hungover, I’ll go for the pambazo. These dishes never disappoint. I love the spice level and the flavoring.
Don’t forget to add a drink to your order. The micheladas, margaritas, aguas frescas, and other cocktails are delicious.
Keep doing a great job representing authentic Mexican cuisine. I am looking forward to the opening of Cucharita!

I always make sure to take to Cuchara everyone who comes visits and no one has been disappointed! Every dish is flavorful and unique, and the margaritas are strong but delicious! Also, the service is excellent! By far my absolute favorite restaurant in Houston!

Fun atmosphere and good service. Definitely recommend. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious! Super nice to have some authentic Mexican cuisine rather than the standard tex-mex.

Authentic Mexican food was good. However, I would have liked complimentary chips and salsa. The menu was limited the day I went. The carafe of water and mini Mason jars were cute but I would have preferred filtered water. You can absolutely tell it was water straight from the tap. I left still feeling kinda hungry for a $24 plate. This pictured plate was $18.

11/10 restaurant. The best REAL Mexican food in houston for the price, aside from Arnaldo Richard’s Picos. Only downside is menu prices. Even if you just go for dessert, get the 5 Leches cake – this alone is worth going. It’s the best I’ve tasted.

Came in after being disappointed by another Mexican restaurant, and felt like this place saved our night. This spot is meant to represent Mexico City’s flavor. We had gorditas and the ceviche. The shrimp was fresh and the gorditas weren’t too fatty. So, it felt like an upscale, street- food place in Mexico City. The staff was friendly and the location is great. The restaurant also has interesting art which makes this place a treat for all your senses.

Cuisine that totally immerses you into the roots of true traditional Mexican food!
Some things on the menu taste like street food in Mexico City while others are unique Aztec inspired Mexican fusion at its best! MidTown's secret gem located on Fairview

Celebrating Viernes Chiquito (little Friday)…can’t wait for the weekend to come around! Absolutely yummy and excellent service! We had Esquites, Tamal de cazuela, Las tres damas that was served with tangy green salsa, corn salsa, and red salsa. The drinks were strong and on-point, and the Elote Flan was really good. The real-deal Mexican flavors and attention to detail permeated through every dish. It was truly a delicious experience that we would recommend!

Always a solid choice. Doesn’t matter what time of day they have something for you. I recently went on the last Thursday of the month where I learned they only serve the brunch menu at dinner for those individuals that cannot make it for a weekend brunch can still experience it.
The food is fantastic, the salsa is always great, and on my most recent visit our waiter, Alejandro, was amazing. Very personable and great recommendations.
On weekends they have a market out front and the bar makes great drinks! They also have a b-cycle station right outside so you can hop on a bike to explore the surrounding area right after.

This place has a really lovely ambiance inside and is usually bustling on the weekends. I went recently with my mom and was pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks. The margaritas are nice and strong, and I ordered the asado de res which was one of the most heavenly beef stews I've ever tasted. It was spicy, smoky and savory all in one and the beef tips were oh so tender. I only wish it came with more rice, but that's a minor detail! Overall, I would definitely come back – only downside is that parking can be a bit tricky to find and the menu is a tad on the pricey side but you get what you pay for.

The service & ambiance is great here! The margaritas are SO so good and refreshing. Las tres damas (enchilada) dish is delicious. The ceviche and gorditas were also a hit. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is their 5 leches — it’s a bit too dense for my taste. Next time I’ll try a different dessert.
