Was only in Houston for a few days but this was hands down the BEST food I tasted during my stay. We ordered takeout and it was ready sooner than expected and quality was amazing. Enchiladas and the "Reebs" were delicious. Will return when I'm back in the area.
I love a good Tex-Amex establishment, and my Houston friends said that this was one of the chains that would be excellent. They were correct.
As soon as we came, we were placed on the waitlist however we were quickly seated after a short wait.
Staff asked if any of us were new to this restaurant. Being the only one not from Houston, I told them I was. The manager of the establishment personally brought us out complimentary skirt steak tacos for being a first-timer here, and these were excellent. Their skirt steak is the real deal! So much flavor, so juicy, and surprisingly tender.
We got complimentary chips and salsa and a bean dip. The bean dip is amazing. I could eat this with chips all day as it had spices and cilantro and was super savory yet thin enough to still eat with chips.
Being here during their Hatch Chile season, I had to get one of their seasonal dishes that included this. I got the hatch barbacoa tacos - braised beef with a Hatch Chile sauce and queso fresco, all on a corn tortilla. This was breathtaking. The corn tortillas are freshly made in-house, and this is easily my favorite corn tortilla I’ve ever eaten. The corn flavor really permeates throughout the tortilla while being incredibly soft. The beef was braised so well and a generous portion was added to the 2 tacos. And the chile sauce gave a nice tang and decent spiciness to the whole dish.
The dish was served with great rice and flavorful beans.
I also tried their carne asada which was a huge piece of tender steak. This was so soft that I legitimately was able to use a spoon to cut and eat it. It had such a peppery and smoky flavor to it.
Lastly, make sure you get some pepper shrimp brochette. This is shrimp wrapped in bacon and it’s impeccable. You don’t want to miss adding this to any part of your meal.
The manager and her staff were so friendly and attentive throughout our meal which we really appreciated. Our drinks were always kept full and we never felt like we were having to wait for anything.

Absolutely love this place. Their salsa sauce is bomb! So good we keep refilling it. Taco fish is nice and crispy. Tortilla mixed grilled meat is perfect for sharing.

First time here and this is absolutely the best fajitas and queso I have ever had. Additionally the staff were not only professional but extremely polite. Will be back for sure.

Star of the meal was the Chips, Salsa & Bean Dip. I couldn't eat the Rice (loaded with chili powder or something). I didn't care for the Braised Beef in the Tacos. Refried Beans were good. I will probably go back and try the Enchiladas.

Used to love Lupe. We came today, a Sunday. 30 min wait-- fine. We ordered drinks, sat outside. When our table was ready, I looked at the menu & noticed that when I asked the female, Hispanic bartender what white wines they have, she only mentioned the 3 most expensive ones! There were actually 2 cheaper options.. my husband closed out our check at the bar & noticed he got charged an extra drink. He was told that "I thought you ordered 2 vodka sodas." She knew I ordered wine - the whole thing just seemed like a scam, trying to nickel & dime the customers. Then we had a male, Hispanic server-- I asked for lemon waters-- no lemons. Every time he dropped off food, water, ANYTHING-- he would slam them all down so we had water & food spilled all over our table! Only checked on us once. Oh-- & the manager checked on us initially to ask how the food & service was-- both my husband & I had mouths full of food & couldn't really answer, so she just walked away. The whole thing was a joke. And the fajitas just didn't taste the same anymore. From the flour tortillas to the rice and beans-- the flavor was off and we did not leave satisfied like we used to.

Very good food and ambience! We tried spinach enchiladas, grilled mushroom and vegetarian fajitas. Spinach enchiladas was really tasty ???? and grilled mushroom was very authentic and well made. I also tried virgin Pina colada and loved it ❤️ Highly recommend giving this place a try if you're around the place!

Good food. Would recommend booking in advance. There was a wait of about 1 hour when we reached. Spent time at bar till out table was ready. Servers were helpful explaining everything in detail. Note that their beans and tortillas have pork in them!
