The Monarch is in the hotel which is dim lit with warm lights and live fish. The restaurant has a quiet yet sophisticated atmosphere. I loved the ambiance.
I ate the steak and eggs Benedict but replaced the steak with lox. I had a virgin piña colada which was sour (I wouldn't recommend).
The food is good but pricey considering the meal isn't great. The asparagus lacked seasoning, the potatoes were great, the eggs Benedict should've had the hollandaise sauce - if it did, I didn't taste it. The lox gave the eggs the additional saltiness I needed.
Parking is valet. They do parties of 6 or less. They have indoor or patio seating. The hotel/ restaurant is located next to the museum down the street from Hermann park. If you put Monarch restaurant in Google it will take you to Dallas.
Amazing food! The lamb chops, Brussel sprouts, fried chicken steak and tuna salad were the best we have had! We will be coming back to this restaurant many times again!

Delicious food and great service. Food arrived fast and was very good. Pictured is the French Toast with maple syrup instead of bourbon.

Excellent. Reservations suggested.
Monarch is an outstanding hotel restaurant. The interior decor isn't that special, but the patio is lovely.
The staff are professional, pleasant and helpful. Alex was really good at taking care of us until he got sucked into helping with a larger party.
Now, the food was great. The volcano salt garlic fries with goat milk ranch dressing were great (and are going to have me experiment with goat milk ranch recipes). The broiled redfish was a delight to the eye and tongue, presented beautifully and tasting amazing. My wife's burrata buccatini was great. And it drinks were nice.
Overall, highly recommended. Go make a reservation and enjoy.

The food was fantastic and prices were what I expected....expensive. It was a birthday treat to myself so I didn't mind. I've gone by several times while visiting the museum and I've always wanted to try it. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Loved the decor and the ambiance was nice. I got the grilled red fish over sautéed mushroom and spinach, a glass of Malbec, and a slice of key lime pie. Fresh and delicious! Be aware that on the receipt they advertise an automatic 20% gratuity if you do not have a room at the hotel. Also, from what I could see there is metered street parking only, or you must valet. I also wasn't a fan of the dimly lit restroom with a black toilet, but that's just me.????

Absolutely fantastic brunch place before you head to see art in Museum district. Excellent service and great food.

Nice ambiance, good appetizers, but the entrees were bad- not flavorful at all. Spinach was way too salty, red fish was bland, the short ribs were very bland... I only ate my food because I was hungry and it was my first meal of the day. Probably wouldn't go back unless they have a good happy hour. The old fashioned was the best thing I had. This was not worth $120 (including drinks and tax). Based on quality should have been more like $50

My sister and I had Saturday brunch about 2 weeks ago and we really enjoyed it. Our server was nice and attentive. My sister ordered an omelet and I the french toast based on our server's recommendation. My food was reallu delicious. Bread was super soft. It didn't harden as it got cooler like other bread would. They have a couple of tvs outside and they had the red river showdown showing. Ambiance was super nice. It was a chill environment and the greenery gave tropical/jungle vibes. We definitely enjoyed the weather while having brunch outside.

The best part of our experience was the view of the trees and museum district. The food was no better than ordering similar items at a chain like Denny’s. The pancakes at Cracker Barrel are actually way better. Something changed here in the last year or so. I remember wonderful breakfasts at the ZaZa in 2019. I think the servers were trying but there was not enough help for attentive service. People who dress up on a weekend morning and come downtown for brunch probably expect to drink coffee out of something other than paper cups.

Beautiful outdoor restaurant. Our food was amazing and the tables are well spaced out. It's open and there are fans for when it gets a bit warm. Walking distance from the MFAH. Food was excellent we went for lunch a but late around 2:30 ordered a spicy chicken wrap with parmesan truffled fries and fish. Our items came out hot and delicious. Dessert was 50/50 as I ordered the turtle cheesecake but got a basic cheesecake with a drizzle of chocolate, but my friend's chocolate s'mores was AMAZING. Our waitress was great attentive and very nice about the cheesecake issue. She comped us for it which was really nice. All in all a great place for girls lunch or brunch. Only wish we could have made it in time for brunch.
