Overall Rating

I recently visited Houston and enjoyed at great meal at Patton’s, a new Steakhouse in the Heights.
While I always make a visit to Savoir, when I’m in town, I needed to see if Patton’s measured up to Savoir and without a doubt….. it did not disappoint!! I had the ribeye with chimichurri sauce and the broccolini.
Same friendly and attentive service :) thanks and see you again soon !

Awesome little speakeasy. The Steaks were amazing, and I highly recommend the A5 fat washed bourbon if you're into bourbon.

I never planned on writing a review. I went here for my birthday dinner and the food was flawless. I ordered the New York Strip Steak with creamy corn, mash potatoes and roasted mushrooms. The food deserved a 5 star rating, also the interior design of the restaurant is of high standard.

My date and I had a great time having dinner here.

Being led to the restaurants secret entrance after having a drink at the Savoir bar was fun and elevated the experience above that of a normal dinner date. My suggestion is to leave your guests in suspense about where you are actually going to eat dinner, say you are just stopping for a drink nearby.

The cocktails were a lot of fun and worth a try.

The food was excellent all around. Service was great and unhurried.

All in all a special place!

Food and service were excellent! Having the bar staff hold an iPad with the flash light app shining in your face to take pictures of an influencer’s drinks and appetizers was not! Was a little ridiculous at a nice steak house!

Wine: I had taken a few moments to research the wine before dining. Unfortunately, my choice was not available. The server said that this is usual. The wedge salad was weak. I was hoping, the entrees would be better. The steak and sea bass were fabulous, but the star of the show….the sides. broccolini, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms. Sauces for the protein were awesome.

Good atmosphere and the food was ok. However, we ordered cabernet by the glass to be brought out with our steaks. The wine was brought out 5 min after the steaks were served and its was COLD! Same temp as white wine is to be served. Waiter gave a lame explanation. The truth is that they pulled the wine from storage and served it immediately at storage temp. Won't be returning.

Went for a dinner date with the wife and all I can say is WOW! What a cool experience! Its liking being transported to a different world. Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was amazing. Ask for Dom! She was amazing! We had the beef carpaccio and the crab cakes to start with. The beef carpaccio was so pretty I didn't even want eat it. The crab cakes were well made with tons of jumbo lump crab and an amazing remoulade to accompany it. My wife had the seabass which was absolutely decadent! The sauce that it was accompanied with was divine. My filet was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I got the black garlic butter to go with my filet and wow! what a flavor bomb! For sides we got the creamed corn and the broccolini. Creamed corn was my favorite by far. For dessert we had one of each dessert. The cheesecake was my favorite but my wife was a bigger fan of the chocolate cake but thats typical for us. We can't wait to come back!

If you think a good steakhouse serves Prime steak or better, you will not be happy with Patton's.
Their beef is Choice, with a couple of cuts advertised as Prime or Wagyu. I got the "Prime" bone-in ribeye, but based on the distinct lack of marbling I would have guessed that it was actually Choice.
The crust was nice—whoever is manning the grill knows what he's doing with this mediocre beef.
With my steak I had the bordelaise sauce. I wouldn't have guessed what it was if I hadn't ordered it. More like a demiglace sauce with a splash of wine added.
The bread service was advertised as baked in house, but I'd bet the price of my ribeye that the rolls were produced somewhere else. Like HEB Parker House Rolls. Which are good, but they'd obviously been reheated—they had the telltale texture of microwaving or steaming.
For sides we had mashed potatoes (which may as well have come from a box) and broccolini (which was tough and otherwise undistinguished).
Gave two stars initially, but decided that was unduly harsh, and edited.
I look forward to seeing if Patton's can get their act together, but selling a 16-ounce Choice ribeye (their boneless menu offering) for $65 is not going to bring me back.

Such a fun, original dining experience! From the moment we sat down service was spectacular. Some favorite starters were the carpaccio, the Waldorf salad, and the crab cakes- YUM! And the steaks, delicious! The char on the outside was unlike any other steak I've had in the city. Perfect spot for date night and will definitely schedule a few business dinners here.
