Nice neighborhood place - food is comparable to a good home-cooked meal. It's not fine dining and the service is spotty, but the prices are fair, the menu covers all the hits and some nice surprises, and it's usually open. Pretty good, and that's not bad.
The fried asparagus with crab was maybe the best tasting appetizer we've had in years. Ample portions, impeccable service and classy atmosphere has made Piatto a favorite for 10+ years.

Great service and food. I had the Papparilla Della Vodka & the sausage tasted great and I loved the wide noodles & sauce with grilled mushrooms.

What a date night treat!!!!
Started off with seared tuna and bruschetta.
Then we both chose the spaghetti with meatballs, and meat sauce. I added the Italian sausage to mine for a "complete" experience. Our meal to this point was simply exquisite. As couples often comment to each other now is " Desert or no desert? Share or not?" Well, yours truly, took the big dive, and got the chocolate cake, and my wife got the creme brule. Both of us got coffee to compliment the selections.
I must say that the whole evening there at the restaurant was what I would expect for a date night; great company, great food, great service, and all for a reasonable price.
We will definitely return for another date night.

Nothing seems to stay the same these days. I was a patron of this restaurant for quite a few years before leaving Houston about 8 years ago. They had one of the best dishes in town back then. It was their artichoke with lump crab and a butter sauce. I am now able to visit Houston often so I was anxious to go to their newest location and get that dish. It tasted nothing like it did a few years ago. The crab had no flavor and was in small pieces, not the lump crab they served in the past. The sauce had no flavor and the artichoke seemed not to be cooked the same. It was not a bad dish, just a dish I would not order again if I were ever to return. What I have learned is that over the years the restaurants have multiplied ten fold and the quality of the food has declined fifteen fold, making it much more difficult to find a great restaurant.

I went here for my Birthday on Tuesday March 22 and the service was amazing it was a party or 9 people they made my experience great. As someone who's full bloodied Italian I'm skeptical of all Italian restaurants. This place is amazing and the owner even come over to talk to me. And he's Italian and knows all about Italian food. I definitely recommend anyone searching for authentic Italian food to go here. I'll definitely be back

If you love authentic Italian cuisine you will love this place. The entire experience from arriving to leaving was awesome. We had an office gathering here and our waiters was so attentive. The food was amazing. We had asparagus topped with crab as an appetizer, Pork Chops, Pollo Janice, Butter Cake, and Lemon Twist Cheesecake. The owners even stopped by our table to say hello. Awesome.

Very cozy atmosphere and food was delicious, Mushroom Ravioli and Eggplant Parmesan were made just right and very tasty.

The atmosphere seems very casual I kind of wish it had a different vibe but the food was good but nothing amazing. I so think if you are in town you should perhaps try it. The location is a bit hidden I have lived in houston for a while and never noticed this place at all. Its seems like a great place for family though.
