Really enjoyed brunch here. The chilaquiles, huevos, and guac were perfect. Delicious Mexican coffee and churros. Nice atmosphere.
It was absolutely delicious!! The staff is also very kind and attentive. The menu is authentic and there’s something for everyone to try. The chilaquiles were to die for.

I was looking forward to becoming a fan of this restaurant but after today's visit, we will not return. Polanquitos is truly overcharging for meals that are basically thrown together and not even served warm enough. I had the mole chilaquiles...all they did was throw mole sauce on tortilla chips, add cotija cheese and add a small scoop of refried black beans, at a whopper cost of $14.95. Three very small picadoras we're $11.95 and it was just salsa, cotija and chopped onions on a little masa tortilla. After tip, we walked out of there spending almost $70 dollars. Definitely not worth it and we like to eat out a lot. So disappointed that we decided to go elsewhere for dessert. Sure didn't want to pay $12 for a couple of churros. Won't be returning.

The service and ambiance of the restaurant are great and the coffee is fantastic. The food and meats however were a bit bland. I recommend the horchata with expresso.

I've been looking for a piece of Mexico all over Houston, and today I finally found polanquito. Most authentic Mexican food in town! Delicious food, awesome staff, beautiful place, it has it all. Chilaquiles are my favorite dish, and in two years I hadn't been able to find decent, authentic chilaquiles in Houston. These were it. If you want to eat REAL Mexican food, this is the place for you!
P.s. do yourself a favor and try the horchata latte and empanaditas de arroz for dessert. ????????

Came for a nice lunch and had the mole chilaquiles and horchata latte. Finished off with the rice pudding empanadas. Really authentic atmosphere and friendly people! 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area!

The staff is extremely friendly and so helpful explaining all the diverse and intricate dishes. The acapulco shrimp cocktail was refreshing and perfect for a hot summers day. The chilaquiles are to DIE for and the best remedy for hang-overs. The chicken with mole is my favorite dish and oh man, did they absolutely nailed it! BUT the best part was dessert, the empanadas with rice pudding are worth all the hype. And of course, you can’t forget to try the Horchata latte is an absolute game changer. It’s a family owned restaurant and you can definitely feel it in the comfortable and familiar atmosphere. If you’re looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food, look no more because Polanquito is the perfect spot for you.

The quac, chicarrones were good as was the tres leches. The tacos were ok at best. Cute place and good service. Would go back with others but not alone.

First let me digest the quality of the food. Appetizers were not as I expected given the high reviews I read. The tostadas were stale. The guacamole was not at all fresh. The queso fundido was not warm but cold so the cheese was hard to eat! The esquites(corn in a cup) also served cold was really disappointing. The mini flautas were also cold and very hard to chew. The pork (crispy corn patties) was ok but again served cold not hot or even warm. So disappointed. I wanted so much to like just one thing. I don’t like giving bad reviews. But I also like to give my honest review to help someone pick a place to eat that is at least decent and serves warm or even hot dishes. Oh, the flour tortillas were good but alas cold! The wait staff really do need to be trained.

Most authentic food experience in Houston. From presentation to taste the food and service were amazing. I’m not a fan of mole but I just can’t stop eating all the three kinds they have in here, the black mole is my favorite though. The owner and the chef walk constantly around the restaurant checking on the people, this adds a very personal touch to the place. I have also taste their Horchata Iced Latte or Cafe de olla and it’s pretty good too. I will totally recommend this place to whomever wants to have traditional food without leaving USA
