Love the atmosphere, you really feel like you're in a fancy ski lodge. The patio area is breathtaking and great for photos. Four stars because the menu only has two vegetarian options, and they are both risotto-like. Other than that desserts tasted as good as they looked, and the ambiance and service can't be beat.
A great experience from beginning to end. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable and food was perfectly prepared. We came for Houston Restaurants Weeks. Highly recommend the duck gumbo, beef tenderloin and the rabbit loin. Atmosphere has a relaxed fine dining feel.

Rainbow Lodge is a great novelty restaurant featuring "exotic" game meats and unique dishes. That said it's hard to give full stars as the delivery of these unique dishes are underwhelming for the price. It's hard to recommend over a traditional steakhouse.
On one hand I appreciate the meat first flavor profile of the uncommon cuts, but on the other hand when you are paying $25-$65 per plate you expect a bit more than a sear and some light seasoning.
The Rainbow Lodge still gets four stars from me for their superb theme, bar, service, and uniqueness. It's just somewhere I can't imagine coming back to frequently.

The best hidden gem in Houston! My wife and celebrated our Anniversary with Rainbow Lodge last night! The food…top notch. The service…top notch. The atmosphere…top notch. Derek our waiter was personable, attentive, and very accommodating! As a North Dakota native who grew up eating venison, and Elk I have been disappointed by so many restaurants and the preparation of wild game. That’s not the case at Rainbow Lodge! The venison and elk were cooked perfectly! My wife had the Buffalo tenderloin and it was exquisite! If you’re looking for quality wild game cooked perfectly this is the place to go! We will be back to celebrate again for sure!!!

This was one of the best places I have eaten in Houston. The ambiance was absolutely amazing for a lunch with my client.
I had the Red Fish (First time) and it was amazing not too filling and not too lite. The flavors were good, it was not over seasoned and it was also not over cooked as is often the case with certain fish.
The appetizer the taste of the wild was nestled presented and was super delicious, there was duck and venison which was absolutely delicious. Overall the service and the food was just well done. I enjoyed and will be back once I visit Houston again.

The history of this place is fantastic, and the story about the bar adds to it. There is an outdoor dining area, that would be amazing when the weather is nice and cool. Our servers recommendations were spot on. The cocktails were great, but the wild game entrees and appetizers really are the stars here. We had bison carpaccio as an appetizer, the antelope and wild game grill entrees, this allowed us try a wide selection of the wild game offered. All courses were incredible and cooked perfectly. Their chocolate pine cone dessert pairs well with a dessert wine off the extensive wine list.

Elegant, but relaxing atmosphere. The setting was wonderful, and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable.
I ordered the Wild Game Mixed Grill. It contained quail, venison, elk, and wild boar. The restaurant was out of the wild boar, however, and substituted it with lamb chop. It was all cooked perfectly for me and came with delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus. Excellent meal.
For dessert, we got a dessert cocktail called The Nudge, and it was amazing.
I unfortunately have to mention that my cousin ordered the 16 oz, Ribeye Steak medium rare, but it came out well done. No pink. After bringing it to the waitress's attention, she apologized and took it back immediately. The manager came back with an entire new entree and the steak was cooked perfectly.
I asked my cousin if it was worth a star being removed (because everything had been amazing up until that point), and he said no. The 5-star gets preserved..
Great service. Delicious food and cocktails. Wonderful atmosphere.

A hidden gem in the loop. Great indoor and outdoor spaces that you would not or could not expect from the street. Honestly, I wanted to order the whole menu, but I knew I was going to have to come back soon. The appetizers we recommend are the crab cakes and the wild game sampler. I recommend both, but I'm still thinking about the mustard sauce that came with the crab cake. It was creamy and light, we even had to dip our bread into it because of how much we liked it. From the main menu, the antelope, it was a velvety tender with a taste unmatched. If you still wanted more wild game choices, they do have a main menu sampler that has different options than the appetizer.

Went for our 10 year anniversary- the drinks were amazing. Hibiscus margarita was top notch. Food was good but not worth the $. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. Overall really nice but seemed a tad high in price compared to a Del Friscos or similar type restaurant.

Excellent food across all three courses. Paolo, our server, and the rest of the staff provided five-star service throughout. Will definitely come back next time we are in Houston.
