Service was impeccable. Food was really good, as well. The lamb shank was so tender it was falling off the bone. The house side salad was a perfect accompaniment, served with a light vinaigrette in a cucumber bowl. The mixed seafood Mediterranean squid ink pasta was good and had a little spicy kick to it.
Our first time visiting but it wont be our last! I can't stop raving about the food and the service - we started with cocktails and then burrata with arugula, charred cherry tomatoes and a roasted lemon vinaigrette, outstanding! I had the Cacio Pepe with a broiled lobster tail which was presented tableside in a hollowed out Parmigiana Reggiano cheese wheel, outstanding. Jeff had the chicken and mushroom ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce topped with crispy prosciutto, he thoroughly enjoyed it! For dessert we had a caramelized apple tart with vanilla gelato! The perfect ending to an amazing meal for sure!

Great gnocchi! I’ve been looking for the best gnocchi in Houston for sometime. And have been led astray several times. I was referred to Roma and it delivered! The Buratta tomato salad was excellent and generous. The wine recommended by the owner was very nice. The gnocchi was very very fresh and delicious and had just the right amount of a wonderful Gorgonzola cream sauce! My friend and I split both dishes and it was plenty for both of us. We had two glasses of wine and a chocolate martini which was at absolutely excellent as well. This is my new “go to” Italian place. The staff clearly takes pride in their food and drinks and the place is beautifully set as well. A winner!

We had an excellent dining experience here. The service was friendly and quick. We appreciated the variety of options on menu as well as the portion size. The food tasted great. I think what makes this place special is the unique atmosphere as the restaurant is located within a house. The feeling of home really provides a special experience. I would definitely come back in the future!

My favorite Italian go to spot! You can't beat this place for ambience, delicious food and, amazing wines! A day/night on their patio is a must during the good months in Houston. The owner, Shanon, and his staff make you feel like family every time you come! The consistency is impressive and his wine dinners are a great value! Wonderful, cozy spot to consider for date night or a small gathering. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough about how much I enjoy dining outside at Roma. From the small, but cute setup with string lights to the pretty quick service overall, I haven't had a bad experience yet. It also doesn't hurt that they probably have the best bolognese I've had in town. Hard to even want to try other dishes when that one is so good, but the cacio e pepe, lasagne, and gnocchi are all solid choices as well. For starters, the meatballs and burrata are pretty good, with the salads being decent if you're trying to play it safe. All in all, it's the perfect place to go for a nice and quiet dinner in town.

My wife and I decided to give this place a try. We parked in the Rice Village garage and walked over since we were planning to walk around a few shops after our early dinner. The walk over from the garage is pretty short. They also have valet parking and it looked like there was some nearby street parking as well. The inside dining area was pretty small. The service was good. The inside noise level was good. It was easy to have a conversation. The food was mostly alright, but not great. The burrata salad was a larger portion size than we were expecting. The pasta dish was tasty, although it would have been nice if it had been full sized shrimps / prawns instead of the tiny baby ones. The whole fish was disappointing. The server scraped the fish meat from the whole fish onto the serving plate and tossed the carcass before we could touch it. If I had noticed what he was doing, I would have requested he just give us the whole fish to pick off ourselves. The fish was cooked too long or too high heat. The fish was on the dry / mushy side. The lemoncello dessert was fine. Probably wouldn't order it again though. My wife got a shot of the lemoncello. It tasted like super strong lemon infused vodka. Overall, not sure I'd recommend this restaurant over other Italian restaurants in the area.

The patio and atmosphere is absolutely amazing! Very beautiful and good vibe. Their menu is limited and the food is good, but not great. Inside is small, but nice. I loved the patio

Oh MY gosh! I went to Roma after a friend told me this was authentic Italian food…it was by far the most delicious Italian meal I’ve had. I’m really sorry to the staff that we stayed past closing time, I didn’t realize what time it was! They were so so nice and the ambiance was so comfortable! The meal was not heavy, we ate a lot and we weren’t exhausted after. I’ll definitely be returning!
