Growing up West U, this place has bèen around for awhile. I just remember going during the fall and winter for the fireplace in the back and having a breakfast burrito that was to die for. Recently i went for that burrito and it jist wasnt the same, it was lacking the finesse or personality. It seemed just theown together. I came back today for another run. P.s i also came in between and had the scrambled eggs and cream cheese, sounded interesting but fell flat in execution. Today, just basic eggs, bacon, grits and a single pancake. The eggs griddle style, i could tell that a flat blade spatula was used to turn and fold the eggs, hence the blade cuts, not alot of care going into the cook but diner eggs all the least. Bacon was crispy but not alot of flavor for some reason, and its peppered. Looking at the plate, it looked as if the grits overtook the plate, bland but seasoning and butter will pick it up. The pancake, marginal, not fluffy, not flat but good...would think it would have more flavor but its good to ok. There is a great coffee selection but honestly, when my coffee is more memorable its an indication that a little love is needed elsewhere. I will still support local establishments, we all know how the so called pandemic wreaked havoc on the industry. Its just not the same however as i remembered it.
The food was good but the portions were small. I got the fried catfish and fries. 4 really small pieces of fish and fries from the freezer. They didn't have tartar sauce. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly. A lot of customers were ordering breakfast (which they serve all day) and the breakfasts looked amazing. I will return and try something else. My second visit was much better. I got the grilled catfish, blackeyed peas and fried okra. This meal came with tartar sauce and the filet of Catfish was larger. Decided to add a photo of my Chicken Fried Chicken lunch from last week. Really huge but really good.

I hate having to do this but I am incredibly disappointed. First, my bill was 39 and some change and they charged me 47. My French toast is burnt and there was an egg shell in my omelet.

Honestly just good quality food at a reasonable price. Consistently quick service, fresh food, and enjoyable atmosphere. All American fare with authentic ish some items from south of the border. Can get busy here, just look ahead but the wait is really not that bad. Indoor seating and well as outdoor if you like that. Parking is usually not an issue, this place is right at the end of a strip center.

Food is always good... Employees are friendly and helpful.. will not leave hungry.. the portions of food are very generous. The breakfast is served all day... My favorite.. I also enjoy the setting.... Comfortable and clean.. As of 4/9/22
I can definitely tell the cook has changed.... The food isn't prepared the same. Totally different taste. You use to ask for crispy hash browns.. now they all are almost burned.. the omelette wasn't an omelette.. more like scrambled eggs. And the beacon is also over cooked. Please get a better cook..

Everything was good. Our food came out fast and hot, the building was clean, and everything tasted great. Nothing special but definitely no complaints.

So excited to be back at The BG! I wish we had one in San Antonio - exceptional food (3B every time) & such reasonable prices.
I didn't drink coffee until I tried the Toasted Cinnamon - so delicious.
Keep up the great work!

Had a fairly decent overall experience, but nothing too special. All of our egg-based dishes were fine, including my omelette. The peppered bacon we ordered was far too crispy for how thick it was. I wish it was either a little thinner or a little softer to enjoy more of the flavor. The hash browns weren't that great either, as they really lacked flavor in general. The pancakes were fine, but rather than get a short stack with both chocolate chips and pecans, we received a pancake with chocolate chips and two with pecans (none with both). The main highlight of the meal was the different types of coffee (especially the toasted cinnamon).
