Hi Houston! Went to Tiny Boxwoods on Alabama today for a bday. They are counter order and no reservations (which I wish they were not) but the bday girl showed up an hr early to grab a table for our party. The location is tight but they have gulf cart guys that were super nice shuttling people to and from their sister milk amd cookies location.
Service was reasonable but not super attentive, a shame bc I think it's more the way the restaurant set up is more so then the staffs fault.
My real only beef is the food. The sweet potato fries were good. The paloma great. But the turkey bacon pesto sandwich was gross. I am attaching pictures. No one liked it at the table. The waitress got the manager, as the lady next to me rightly suggested that I say something. Manager was nice asked if I wanted new sandwich (I most definitely didn't) so two things. It would have been nice to remove the sandwich from the bill. But bc you prepay it feels like a hassle. And 2nd its probably time to retool that sandwich. I mean this as nicely as possible. It was greasy, wayy to much pesto, super scant in both turkey and bacon. And I thought it was supposed to have avocado but that was missing if so.
Restaurants need patience after covid. But if your asking for up to 22% tip for counter service. Please focus on quality food.
We came here for Saturday brunch. They didn’t allow to reserve table for brunch but we came quite early so they still had enough tables for a group of 6. There are not lots of parking in front of the restaurant. However, they have different parking lots quite far from the restaurant and they have golf cart to take you to the restaurant. They have a garden view so I recommend you to sit outside to enjoy the view. The foods are good. This is a good place to enjoy your weekend. Highly recommended!

My wife’s been dying to try this amazing little place for a few months now and it was absolutely worth the wait. Get there early as there was a line outside the door at 10:50am waiting for them to open at 11. The menu held choices for everyone from salads to sandwiches and even meat and cheese trays. You order at the front and it’s open seating throughout. The service was very quick and the food was incredible. The summer salad with grilled chicken was a great size with plenty of roasted pecans and crumbled blue cheese. The avocado toast with smoked salmon and sun dried tomatoes was excellent and was proportioned just right. Excellent spot for brunch!

Nice, sunny, airy spot that was quaint yet vibrant with indoor and outdoor seating options. Food was delicious. Cinnamon rolls were awesome as well.

We enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch here. We arrived just after they opened at 10 am and the line was already 45-60 minutes long. It was a little hot in the sun but overall, waiting amidst the beautiful garden is not bad at all. The reason the line is long is there is only one register open to take orders - I guess that helps with table flow and food prep. It did not take long for our food to come out. Our waiter was nice and took a group photo of us from both sides of the table. I know he was super busy so the extra little touches are appreciated. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was all quite tasty. Afterwards, we meandered through the garden at Thompson Hanson. All in all, a perfect way Mother’s Day brunch.

Beautiful outdoor garden seating. First timers feel overwhelmed by the ordering/seating process and busy long line. Food is good, somehow my order “mother’s breakfast” tasted dry. Hard to find parking. Overall average experiences.

Took a friend here for a birthday lunch and we both enjoyed it. The food was yummy and the best part is that it’s nestled inside a cute nursery where you can walk around and shop for plants.

What a quaint, serene cafe bistro in the inner loop. Had a lunch date and this place is perfect. It has an amazing green space view and a full garden nursery that is part of the restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly. With the nice weather, I opted to eat outside, but the inside has a very nice modern farmhouse decor with open kitchen concept. Food was light and delicious. Perfect spot to have great conversations and take pictures. ChowChow Time!

Could have been a 5 star if it weren’t for the terrible seating policy. You cannot sit down or even save a seat for yourself or your party until you have ordered and have received a number. We had initially saved a table, but were asked to vacate. Once we ordered, there were no tables available for us to sit at. The food we ordered had to be held back until a table opened up. Someone make this make sense. Why order food if there isn’t a place for me to sit? Especially when they’re charging the prices that they are.
The overall layout is terrible,
Aside from this, the atmosphere is quaint. The food was really good, and made up for the unpleasantness dealt by trying to find a table -

OK so it’s not my first time at tiny boxwood in fact I’ve been here many many times and truly I enjoy taking people for the first time, so this time I took my husband here and he absolutely really loved everything about it. It’s a very busy and we had to wait in line to order which I’m not accustomed to but it was fine we waited in line to order and then a hostess to the store seat we were able to sit outside which was our preference. The food was delicious, and my breakfast I didn’t realize it was a breakfast taco but I don’t really like corn tortilla so I didn’t use those tortillas. Great experience as always. Also got one of those tiny cookies love them!
