Pretty solid old-fashioned burgers. Good fries and onion rings as well. Surprisingly wide selection of bottled/canned beers. Good choice if you’re in the mood for a no-frills homemade cheeseburger.

Ever crave a burger randomly when you just want a hardy juicy big burger? Chester's serves that burger. They fat, wide, and really very good. This isn't a fancy place and you won't find any tourists. This is a San Antonio staple that attracts as many lunch break patrons as it does family burger night folks. Order the double cheeseburger with fries. Fair warning that the fries will need salt and always come out bland. Skip the green chilie and bacon because the burger doesn't need either.

I tried Chester’s due to the many great reviews. The staff were very friendly but that is where the quality ends. My burger was very dry and lacking flavor. The onion rings had almost no onion and no salt so they, too, were not good. Still looking for the best burger in SA.

Haven't been here in a few years but this trip was uneventful and I enjoyed my bacon cheese burger. Restaurant is comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and curtious. You could have a beer with your lunch from a pretty good selection. They have a very good score from the health department.

Burgers were delicious. The ala cart menu was less than appreciated as a meal takes it over ten dollars every time with just a fountain drink. The burgers are Truly the best I had had here in town thus far. I like the old school atmosphere and mix of sixties music. It’s a order then sit where you will place which makes it nice for big families. I’d definitely go back

This burger is ginormous!!!! The small burger is 1/3 lb patty and is so big! Bun has to be 6 inches. Fries are fresh cut, taste amazing. Onion rings crisp and delicious. I got strawberry shake, it's real! Real ice cream, doesn't taste fake. Cheaper than Carl's Jr or McDonald's, and 10 times better food.

Decided to stop by and give this place a try and boy am I glad that we did. Customer service is great, the place has a bar atmosphere without all the stuff associated with a bar. Got a regular bacon cheeseburger to go and it did not disappoint. My burger was juicy and meaty, the poppy seed bun was nice and soft, it was sooooo good yo. I honestly haven't been satisfied with any of the burger places I have visited in quite a while. If you have not tried this place, please I highly recommend giving thus place a try.

This evening 1/5/22 was definitely different. I've loved this place for years. But management and staff have changed. All the employees were smiling, cleaning up and constantly greeting customers. It seemed friendly and more inviting. Never had an issue before. But sometimes we get use to something and don't realize there is room for change until you see better. Food remains great but the new crew here are whipping up the best customer service I've ever seen here. Keep them all! Love it !!!

Highly disappointed. Their sign reads "Best Burger in San Antonio." I would hate to see the worst. Burgers were dry and the fries were burnt and soggy. Live and learn.
