This was a unique, but interesting, experience. There are no prices here. They recommend around $15 per plate, but there are no hard rules. This is a nonprofit that supports a rehabilitation center, so what you pay directly supports the center.
However, the food is simply fantastic. This stuff stands on its own, even without the added knowledge of what you're supporting. The flavors were amazing, and the portions were MUCH larger than anything you'd get at a restaurant chain.
And it's nestled in the middle of Salado park, with its trails and wonderful scenery. I honestly can't recommend this place enough.
Really neat place and yummy food! Good portion sizes and patio is dog friendly. It is a “pay what you can” but the recommend $15-$20 per entree so it can go back to their rehabilitation program to recover from addiction. Awesome concept and delicious food would definitely go back!

Not only is the food amazing, proceeds go to charity. The food was some of the best I've had. The fruit in my stuffed french toast was fresh with a delicious, not too sweet, cream filling. As for prices, they let you pay what you think it's worth...remember it's for charity. Join the wait list on Yelp, because the wait can get very long...it's totally worth a 2 hour wait.

This is one of my favorite places to have brunch.
Beautiful atmosphere, really cool vibes inside, they have a big upstairs wait area where you can stop off at the coffee bar and grab a coffee while you wait for your table. There is a unique little shop inside with crystals, and different rocks, jewelery, bags, shirts, and just an assortment of fun things to look at and purchase.
All the people that work here are so inspiring. Blake was our very server the first time we stopped in and it's always nice to see him.
Keep up the good work everyone.. Y'all are amazing. The food is always so delicious..
one day at a time!!!
It works if you work it!
Sincerely,
Melissa C & Keith

I have been wanting to try Comfort Cafe for at least 2 years but the stars never aligned until today. It was so worth the wait. We got in line on Yelp, arrived in time to enjoy chai tea and Vietnamese iced coffee over a serious game of Yahtzee! I won ????
When we got to our table, Blake was our server. We were blessed with the best. His story moved me to tears. The team's determination, serenity, and grace filled the restaurant The food was absolutely amazing. Hopefully these pics will do the flavor justice. We cannot wait to return.

I had the Lone Star Breakfast. Which includes 3 Eggs, potatoes 2 meats and cinnamon rolls pancakes.
Jaycee was the server who took care of me and she was exceptional AT HER JOB.
She explained to me the program and how it works and support the workers who use the program.
The prices for the meal are All donation and go back to program. That supports the workers at the restaurant.
The Sausages were juicy and lots of flavors, I got a second serving of them.
The Potatoes had green and red peppers. They were seasoned perfectly
Their Pancakes were thick and fluffy. When you think cinnamon rolls, that's what these pancakes are. Once I added butter they were excellent.
The bacon was thick and crispy.
My only criticism would be on the eggs. They were good, but nothing special.

Our family went here for lunch (some of us got a late breakfast which they serve all day), the food is amazing!! Highly recommend this place! No prices on the menu, you "pay what you can" as the proceeds go back to their charity. They kindly suggest a donation of $15 per entree, and the food is totally worth it. Very generous portions. We will be back!

OMG!! The food was amazing every plate had great presentation. The bacon cooked to perfection. Eggs Benedict was great. Also if you order the Rise and shine get ready to share the yogurt bowl it's huge. The coffee is amazing also.
I can not say enough about service and the kind employees we had encountered.
Great job guys we will be recommending you to everyone.

This place is awesome! Amazing food while supporting a great nonprofit? Count me in! We had the weekly special Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pancakes. They were amazing. Everyone was so friendly. I would recommend getting on the waitlist on Yelp to avoid a long wait. Will definitely be coming back!

Happy New Years. We woke up and wanted to get a great breakfast to start the New Years. We decided to give this place a try. This is one of the best kept secrets in San Antonio. They are a non profit that accepts donations so when you don’t see no prices on the menu don’t be alarmed. The staff here is exceptional especially Blake. This restaurant is built on help people and they are some of the best cooks you’ll ever find in any fine dinning restaurant. Remember this when your ordering a meal it’s big enough to feed at least 2-3 individuals. It was a great experience and fabulous environment. If your looking for a place to eat with some great food. This is the place to go.
